Would you let a Christian become a congressman? Some of their people spout hate, use the Bible to justify murder, torture, rape, etc, go to war over the ideals of their god, and attack common sense because it disagrees with a 2,000 year old document. Surely, they must all be bad and if not how are we to pick out the good ones from the bad since people running for office do this thing where they lie through their teeth?
But nepotism, incompetance, stupidity, failure, lies, greed, those are okay? 'God told me to invade Iraq', that makes sense to you?
But Texan-wannabe frat boys who support the death penalty are a-okay, right? A little consistancy would be nice. A little sanity, too, but I'm sure that would be asking too much.
There is nothing to keep either of these from running for and being elected to Congress unless they have actually been convicted of a crime. Even if someone is suspected
