Uh...Hammurabi? Confucius? They had an easy time coming up with morals without Christianity around. That's because morals don't come from religion in general, or any religion in particular. They come from the shared values of a culture.

Ireland had an incredibly enlightened civilization during the time that most of Europe was in what we now call the Dark Ages. But as Christianity gradually took hold, Irish civilization eventually fell to the same low, fearful, misogynistic level as that enjoyed by the rest of Europe.

Right. So the Greeks and Romans and their philosophies, with human rights, democracy, and all that, that wasn't a good thing, since it predates the NT. And places in Europe today that are far more advanced because of their secular society, leaving behind all those places where the bible or koran is followed by most of the people, that's all bad too, huh? What bullshit.
