[Fundy talk-show host discusses birth control, specifically how it makes the uterus "very slick" and so "that’s why I make the comparison between dead Jews and dead babies."]

1. Not every birth control pill is emergency contraception. Regular old "the pill" prevents release and fertilization , not implantation.
2. The zygote is not a fetus.
3. "Fetus" is not Latin for "baby." It means "offspring", which is far more inclusive and general. Besides, word magic doesn't work. Arguing over terms won't make what's referred to as a fetus the same thing as what's referred to as a baby.
3. That's not how any kind of birth control works.
4. You're an ignorant moron and nobody should consider you an authority. Stop broadcasting before someone mistakes you for one.
Doesn't it take 3 months for an embryo to develop into a fetus?
I love his argument for "They're dangerous, why do you think the Catholic church refuses to allow them. "
Oh gee, nothing to do with the fact that each little 'zygote' is a potential sheep for their flock, to be brainwashed from birth.
OK, I get that birth control pills are teflon tablets, and they make the dot sized baby slide off the uterus, but what does this have to do with dead jews? Did the germans coat them with teflon so they flailed around helplessly until they died?
Sierra:
Scientists suspect birth control pills work in part by preventing implantation of the fertilised egg. The fundie response to this is BIRTH CONTROL PILLS SLAUGHTER BABIES!!!!!
IUDs were targeted for this reason, but now they are almost never used, while birth control pills are often used.
In a rare display of intelligence, fundies decided to target something that was being done, instead of something that was not.
The catholic church does not claim condoms kill babies. It claims condoms are a violation of natural law.
Natural law appears to me to be a catholic rule that non catholics are required to obey. Catholic theologans claim this is not true, but I have never seen them give a definition of natural law that makes any sense.
My definition of natural law come from seeing how catholic fundies use the term when they are not defining it,
that is when they are telling you to obey it instead of telling you what it is and what it means.
Birth control pills, in their action of preventing ovulation are also a violation of natural law, so even as a non baby murdering contraceptive, you still are not allowed to have them.
I bet if this guy went to McDonald's and had a Hindu cashier who refused to serve him beef, he'd have the exact same "Why are you in a job that forces you to do something you find amoral?" argument as the caller.
And there's a difference between refusing to do something illegal and outside your job description and flat-out refusing to do your job.

IUD use is much higher in European countries, and gaining a foothold here. The reason they aren't as common here is because of the single manufacturer in the 70s who had a faulty design to the IUD and caused a lot of infections. They're made better now. And as more research keeps being done, it keeps becoming more clear that the "prevents implantation" is an incredibly unusual event - the vast majority of the time IUDs (and birth control pills) prevent fertilization in the first place.
This guy is a total idiot. Let´s see it this way. I am now taking my pill, the way I did when I was single, because I have heavy periods, do you know, a time when an unfertilised egg is released. Am I killing a baby?. This guy needs biology class.
Godwin in 9 seconds!
Unfortunately, Kent Hovind has him beat. Hovind Godwin'd himself in 5 seconds.
Anyway, a summary of the video: "I don't know anything at all, but my mouth keeps flapping anyway."
Look, doofus, birth control pills do not prevent an embryo from implanting. They prevent the woman from releasing an egg. There is never a fertilized egg in the first place. If you want to pull out the tired debunked old "killing babies" line again, you'd have to define a sperm cell as a "baby" and oppose sex completely, even for procreation.
Second, "fetus" is not Latin for baby, it means "offspring" and playing definition games is not a valid argument, as someone else said. A fetus is not a baby, and a fertilized egg isn't a fetus. A fertilized egg is a zygote and will not become a fetus for months.
"Scientifically and morally," a zygote is a baby? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over?
Look, buddy, if the two are "scientifically" the same thing, why are there different words for them? Science isn't big on superfluos terms; even if you didn't even know what a zygote or a fetus is, this would be a hint.
For your information, a zygote is a fertilized egg, which begins as a single cell. A baby is a developed, conscious individual who can survive outside of its mother's body.
As for "morally" the same what exactly is the basis for morality as far as you're concerned? It's got to be pretty warped if it considers single-celled life forms to be equivalent to babies. Furthermore, since you oppose birth control, you obviously consider sperm cells to be on par with living babies.
Finally: Murder and rape are wrong. A job that requires them is illegal. If your employer asked you to kill someone, you would report him to the police. Birth control is not wrong. You're entitled to believe that it's wrong, and that's fine. If you're a pharmacist, however, it is your job to fulfill prescriptions, and you are not entitled to refuse. If you think birth control is wrong, you can't be a pharmacist unless you're willing to dispense birth control anyway. You can't get paid to be a pharmacist while refusing to do the work.
You know what they say..
A well-oiled uterus...
