In every country where muslims become a significant percentage of the population, they work to make that country just like what they left. England is as violently islamic as Baghdad. Countries are forced by vote to accept sharia law like Canada.

Erm...having been to both Baghdad and living in England, I'd have to say England is a teensy weensy bit safer. We don't have to go around in body armour, for starters. Dunno about Canada, but it never struck me as the kind of place where Sharia was in force, all those women showing so much bare arms.
I guess Kathy30 has to use examples from countries I'm sure that most of FreeConservatives have never been to.

And can't locate on a map.
These people probably think Massachusetts is in France.
England is as violently islamic as Baghdad.
Did I miss something? *Looks out of window, sees nothing violent or for that matter, even islamic*
There are bad spots, of course there are - but I think Kathy is exagerating just a BIT.
Let's see....
Canada - abolished the death penalty in 1976. All parties are opposed to it's re-introduction.
England - abolished the death penalty for murder in 1965. In 1999 the home secretary signed the sixth protocol of the European Convention of Human Rights which formally abolished the death penalty for all crimes in the UK and ensured it could not be brought back. (there had been a loophole for treason)
Australia (for the record) abolished the death penalty in 1973 - and Ronald Ryan was the last man hanged and that was in 1967 after shooting a prison guard during an escape.
Who's fucking country still reeks of dumbass, primitive, superstitious, God-fearing Shariah Law?
Ontario (only one province in Canada) did condsider having Sharia law as a method of family tribunal, on the grounds that they did allow other reigious tribunals. Attending these family tribunals is voluntary. But they rejected the idea, and also moved to prohibit all other religious formes of arbitration. This decision came down a year ago.
I've been to England. Not much violence there, probably less than here (and certainly less than Baghdad). And I know damn well that Canada does not accept sharia law. (Their constitution likely wouldn't even permit it to happen, nor would ours.)
The sky must be orange with gray pinstripes in Kathy's world.
This girl is also known to say nonsenses such as the fact that because a Houston governor was in terms with Fox, he was obeying Mexico and not the United States. And talking about England, just a brief look in the statistics and you´ll see that it is FAR SAFER than Bagdad. I think that this woman should be nominated to alternative bizarro Universe.
When I went to Canada, it was a pretty nice place. Sure that was over a decade ago, but I've not heard complaints about Canada from any Canadians I talk to online. (Canadians rock, by the way)
And Great Britain (Not England!) is among the most secular nations around. It isn't violently Islamic. Telling people to accept other cultures is called being civilzed.
Kathy30 is talking about what muslims would like to do, not what they have already accomplished.
There are neighborhoods in France and Netherlands where Sharia is enforced, but not by the official government. Its enforced because those neighborhoods are entirely muslim and they run their fief the way god commanded, not the way infidels do it.

Bollocks, Mister Spak!
She said "England is as violently islamic as Baghdad. Countries are forced by vote to accept sharia law like Canada. "
This is, of course, sheer unadulterated tripe of the highest order.
I thought the violent and/or fanatical groups in the UK were the hooligans and the chavs, not the Muslims?

I know of no Sharia-ruled enclaves in France, at worst a few (rare) honor killings when a Muslim girl gets a non-Muslim boyfriend.
On a side note, I remember reading an article that said that many descendants of migrant workers coming from the Maghreb or Turkey lack roots, being unable to fit back in their parent's country yet not integrated enough in France. Of course, poverty and unemployment don't help either, and neither does the low esteem for father/father-figure generated by seeing them jobless and forced to live from unemployment benefits.
There are also urbanism-related factors (parked in bedroom suburbs whith little to no cultural or community life) and the matter of the low average instruction level of their parents (many of them struggling with French). Finally, racism and prejudice sure doesn't help, even if it probably isn't as bad as what I hear about the US situation.
All these factors combine -according to said article- to cause these teens and early adults to flock to a violent and radical Islam (quite different from the one practiced in their parents' original countries) as part of a gang mentality/identity.
Hey, Berny, I have been to Canada in July, when you guys were celebrating your Independence Day and ours, which I thought was mighty neighborly of you. Lovely country you have there! It's what the U.S. should aspire to be, when it grows up.
The 2001 census (available online here ) shows that the Muslim population of the UK in 2001 was less than 3%. OK, the data's five years old, but I don't think it'll be much more than 5% now, if it has gone up at all.
Those Muslims must be really putting themselves about if this country is so violently Islamic...
"England is as violently islamic as Baghdad."
I haven't been kidnapped or blown up yet.
To be fair, though, I think the point she was making is that Islamic militant ideals are as strong in the UK as Iraq. And while this is a little exaggerated, she may have something of a point.
One of the things that I enjoy best in this site is when the webmaster pays attention to my pleas. Now, I have been to France and I have to tell you that Sharia is not enforced by law. It´s true that some muslims try to live in the way they did in their origin country but, of course, they live in another alternative universe.
what happens with this idiot of woman who has showed up more often is that she hears news and interprets them in a rare way. She may have heard about the attacks in London and so on, and she thinks that it´s like Bagdagh. Nope, I have a friend in the army there, and I can tell you it´s exaggerated to the best and a misinterpretation to worst. Besides, what happens in Canada is that they have the so-called "arbitrary communities" where, instead of going to a regular tribunal, they try to find a mediator to solve the problems. So, if the people who argue are moslems, logically, they will look for a moslem mediator who may use the sharia law. Conclusion, this woman is not living in an alternative universe, although it seems. She´s a straightfoward ignorant.
"Countries are forced by vote to accept sharia law like Canada."
OH NOES! DEMOCRACY! Well, that and the whole bizarro universe thing.
You guys have it all wrong! She doesn't mean Great Britain is exploding with car bombs (although there are one or two, poor Brits...), she means that, despite the one to two MILLION dead Iraqis, Iraq is a perfectly safe and happy place like Britain. Britain is as violently Islamic (has a capital asshole) as Bagdad: ie not at all. This opinion is depressingly mainstream in the US, and is constantly expressed by the conservative media.
There was a time when the Ontario government was considering using Sharia courts in this province, for people who wanted to settle family disputes according to that tradition. But the idea was very strongly opposed, and the idea, if it was ever implemented, doesn't exist today.
But yeah, Kathy30 has no clue what she's talking about. No one was forced by vote (whatever that means) to accept sharia law like Canada.
Typical of people who walk down a particular street, don't like what they see, then assume that every other street and town must be exactly like it.
There will never be stonings for adultery in England or Canada, so relax!
Does Indonesia have Sharia Laws? It's the country with the most Muslims in the world, to my knowledge. Apparently they do, according to Wikipedia, but it sounds like it only handles religious issues, not civil disputes.
Since when was Canada forced to accept Sharia Law? If people want to follow Sharia on their own, they're probably free to do that in most countries, but I doubt that you can force anyone else to follow Sharia, if they don't want to, in non-theocracies.
Confused?
