I would even caution women
against teaching other women,
or other children, than their own,

because: ronmatheson is a misogynistic half-wit who seems to think he knows what is best for everyone, but in reality he is a deluded, twisted fuck who has mommy issues and in all probability, has desires to be taken 'advantage' of behind a dumpster by a gang of skinheads.
What confuses me is that he believes women can teach their OWN children. What Biblical clause states women may only teach their own kids? Why can't they teach other kids? What if their childrens' friends are around?
And if they have adopted children, can they still teach them? Are women only capable of teaching those they gave birth to?
This just makes no bloody sense at all even without considering the inherent sexism!
This guy is a real sick piece of work, and so is anyone who agrees with him.
The real tragedy, however, is that there are women who buy into this nonsense themselves. I know a brilliant woman who teaches classes in a Bible church, but only to women and children; she won't teach if there are males over 13 or so in the room, not even her own sons.
However, at least she doesn't consider herself, and all other women, completely unworthy to teach anything to anybody! A guy would have to feel just absurdly threatened by women to try to make such an insanely sweeping judgment.
Since we already have given out an award for misogyny this month, might I suggest a "Some Sexes Are More Equal Than Others" Award for this one?

I went and scanned the rest of that topic just to see how people would take it. Someone did try to show that women had equal standing, and got bashed by our man ronmatheson. Luckily, he disappeared in a small flood of angry Jesus fangirls. At the end of it all, despite the few who were actually fighting for their standing in their own religion, a few of them seemed to agree that they were lesser beings. Very sickening to see stuff like this:
"Anyway, personally, I prefer men preaching than women. No offense to my fellow female kind. It's just that women, by default, are too emotional and frankly, those emotions do in fact get in the way a lot of the time."

"A woman's role is not to be the authority over her husband or in the church. She should accept that and seek to serve God in another way."
- Randi
However, I did find this little tidbit near the end that sums up the situation:
"I don't think this thread was started because of an openness/curiosity, about how true this statement is. It's basically here, as a fun excuse to put women down again...a thing some Christians do best."

[EDIT] Seconded the "Some Sexes Are More Equal Than Others" Award nomination. Very Orwellian.
back in the kitchen, wench. And no, don't be teaching people how to cook and clean, either. Just do it yourself.
Hadanelith Dante's Virgil: of course they're pretty...as long as you only happen to be watching. Otherwise, they tend to be too painful to be pretty.
So you're saying you like to watch? Let's go find this guy.
So basically, in ronmatheson's world, a woman is good for nothing else than to function as a uterus with legs.
One has to wonder why God wasted a brain and a voicebox on such pitiable, useless creatures.
I like his responce to someone one who points out the great women of the bible:
[Deborah was a judge.]
"lol"
[Phoebe was a Deacon]
"lol"
Seriously, the only argument this moron can come up with is lol.
Confused?
