The death penalty IS NOT MURDER. It is not killing for fun, it is not done in happiness or for even vengance, but it is a necessity, a device used so that peace can be achieved. It is an act of war the same as any other. It truly is an act of love towards society and a necessity to those who love peace. I believe that Jesus is for the death penalty, and expects punishment on those he loves.

christians are the biggest fucking hippocrites when it comes to this love all people thing and this every life is precious thing. they can put a man to death. yet they have a coniption whenever you talk of an abortion. they can preach oeace but insist that whatever methods can be used to bring people into their "flock". Im fucking tired of this, get a message and stick to it you religion toting faggots or kill yourselves
There's that fundie narcissism again. Apparently, once a person becomes a fundie he can do no wrong; mistakes in sentencing and even determining guilt are unheard of and nothing but liberal lies. Let's just scrap Jesus, follow Time's lead and name the new Jesus: YOU.

Not all Christians are hypocritical about this. I refer you to most of the Quakers and the Mennonites, and a reasonable fraction of the larger denominations. For individual examples, I give you Martin Luther King Jr. and even Tolstoy.
Wait a minute! It's an act of war, and a device used to achieve peace? How?
You do know that only dictatorships have the death penalty nowadays, right? Oh, and the US.
A question, hayden: which is more peaceful, Iran or Norway?
"You shall hate the sin but love the sinner." He set the adultress free, "Let he who is whithout sin cast the first stone." He was executed himself. No, it sounds like he could be anti-death penalty. And it's a good thing. Countries and states without it have lower crime rates.
“The death penalty IS NOT MURDER.”
It is if it’s an innocent man…
“It is not killing for fun, it is not done in happiness or for even vengance,”
Yes, it is done for revenge. That’s the entire point.
We could lock a murderer up for life and no one else is threatened. Why kill him? What’s the benefit to society?
It actually COSTS MORE to run a trial for a death penalty case than for life imprisonment AND the cost of the imprisonment. Esp. adding all the automatic appeals that death penalty convictions bring.
“but it is a necessity, a device used so that peace can be achieved.”
How? someone kills my kid, and dies on the chair, how is peace achieved? Is my kid restored? Is my grief any less? Is my mood improved a fuck?
“It is an act of war the same as any other.”
War?
So, Trump bombed Iran so he could steal Iranian oil. IS that why he pushed to bring back the death penalty? To steal oil from… This makes no sense.
“It truly is an act of love towards society and a necessity to those who love peace.”
Still not seeing the math of how acts of violence are producing peace…
“I believe that Jesus is for the death penalty,”
Based on what? He even healed the Roman soldier that came to arrest him?
“ and expects punishment on those he loves.”
So, your god is just you projecting your bias onto the world.
Confused?
