Quote# 1616

[Continuing to defend the witch-burning verses]Yeah, I think it was more the fact that people were praying to false idols (Satan, Isis, etc.) and trying to summon up powers from other than Godly sources, they probably really had no real power. But still God may have wanted it added because he knew people would seek this witchcraft.

How about a more likely scenario. Like, they weren't praying to any other Gods at all but refused to bow to the Christian church, after all, we know such disobediance was not tolerated.

Witch killing was always a bunch of bogus accusations from the church to keep the public in fear and in line and to demonstrate the churchs authority. Even today churchs continue to demonize other religions and unbelievers, if you could arrange mass killings today to reinforce your control you would. This is why the church was defanged and subjected to mans laws in Europe years ago, this is why the Puritains had their asses kicked out of England and needed to be dealt with in America years later.

But what do we get in the 2000nds? People still thinking this was a just practice, people still making excuses for this barbaric enforcement by religion, people calling for the blood of those who will not join the cult.
