Quote# 1640

I used to be OEC, and could not believe that the earth was young, because of all the "scientific evidence" that I'd been hit with all my life.

So when our financial advisor lent me some Hovind tapes espousing YEC, I went into it with an open mind, but did not think I would be convinced. I was wrong. It makes me sick that so much knowledge is being hidden from school children because it weakens faith in evolution.

That gal needs to get herself a new financial advisor.

That \"financial advisor\" should lose their license.

Financial advisor with hovind tapes? The irony it Buurns!

This is one of the scariest things I have ever seen. Hovind actually managed to convince someone that he was right. I'd always assumed that he was preaching to the brainwashed who would agree with him no matter what. I never thought he could "convince" someone who didn't agree with him in the first place.

That some people are stupid enough to find anything Kent Hovind says convincing is just mind-boggling.

Hovind + financial advisor = long time in jail.

The finacial advisor would be doing a bigger service by sending the Hovind family some videotapes about finacial laws and responsibilities.

As for did Hovind change someones mind here? Doubtful. Kent Hovinds 'theories' are all scientifically unsound and boil down to "God could have done that, the Bible says he did, you have to accept that"

This guy wanted to believe it from the gate, he just feels Hovind's nonsense is a valid argument. " Oh, yeah, well you should check out Hovinds books and videotapes and get educated, he's a PhD and all"

A lot of these people have gotten tired of fighting against scientific evidence and the general publics knowledge of it and really want a reliable, intelligent voice on their side. They want it sooo bad they'll elevate Hovind to that level.

Meridian the Imaginary

She abandoned sound scientific evidence in favour of Hovind, a man who believes that the Earth was encased in a sphere of ice that came crashing down during the Flood? My pity for her is beyond words.

You were convinced by Dr. Dino? HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Alternatively, she is not telling the full truth. That would be less scary.

You trusted a person who's now in jail for tax fraud? Excuse me for not believing you were that open-minded to begin with.

There is no real knowledge being hidden from school-children in favor of evolution. Perhaps there is a lot of pseudoscience hidden from them. But, who needs that mythic stuff?
