While I agree with you that Isreal has gone to some fairly extreme lengths, and that there are people who will try to justify taking things to those extremes, there are some things that Isreal could do that it has not. Remember, they have nuclear weapons.

Among other things, on all sides of the conflict. Don't single out one side while ignoring the atrocities of the others, that's what makes the Isrealies believe that they are justified.

I don't think that they use concentration camps. Also, even if they did, putting them in the concentration camp would just continue the escalation of hate in the middle east. It needs to be dampened, not encouraged.

Been there, done that.
Mind you, neither of these is a blanket excuse for the current nation of Israel to get as extreme as it has been in certain situations -- but that's a lot easier for me to say, living a half a world away, than it is for them living side by side with their greatest enemies taking pot-shots at them with random bombings all the time. If I were them, I'd be inclined to get rather defensively hardcore after a while, too. I don't call their history of victimization a full justification, but I do consider it an explanation for much of Israel's actions and attitudes, and I am generally inclined to be more sympathetic than not.

Israel's record isn't exactly spotless, I'll say that much. But when the people who attack them deliberately surround themselves with civilians so that Israel can't retaliate without causing civilian casualties, I'm inclined to give Israel a bit more leeway than I usually would.
Also... The Lebanese civilian causalities were an order of magnitude higher than those of Israel.
See my comment above. When Hezbollah deliberately put civilians in the line of fire, they lost all right to claim moral superiority.
