Quote# 1675

['But if the water didn't come "shooting from the crust" until after the flood ... there really is no way there was enough water for a global flood.']

There is if there was an ice canopy.

And there isn't another one now because, oh yeah, he said so.

If I hear about the \"ice canopy\" one more time, I'm going to explode.

<<< There is if there was an ice canopy. >>>

Yeah, what's your point? There wasn't one.

But man, wouldn't that be cool? If you could surround the entire atmosphere of the earth in a layer of ice, then the force from gravity would be neutral.

In the words of Jack Handey, \"How about it, science?\"

The gravity from the ice would cancel out, but it wouldn't affect the gravity from the Earth. The value of g would be the same as it is now.

Great, and such an ice canopy would either act as a magnifying glass, incinerating all life on the planet, or block the light, freezing us all. So either way, such a ludicrous idea is physically impossible.

If there were a canopy of ice, of CLEAR ice to allow sunlight though, we have the same problem as your "water canopy." This would compress the atmosphere below it, and when a gas is compressed, its temperature increases. That's why the temperature increases as you go down a mountain, or you compress it in a cylinder in a diesel engine. Would you want to live on the oven-like Earth that you canopy would create? Neither would I. Maybe, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

a mind far far away

That's right, when you don't have an answer, just make shit up. You look smarter that way, rather than just saying "I don't know", and being honest with yourself. Dumbass.

But there wasn't Hovindite

I want to know where this "ice canopy" reference is located in scripture. Otherwise, this joker, GodsSamus is going to burn a long-suffering torture by the hand of (the all-loving) God for adding his own spin to the untouchable Truth(TM).

I doubt anyone who seriously thinks the ice canopy or water canopy are credible ideas has a passing grade in GCSE physics. Even counting D-G grades as passes.

El Guapo

An ice canopy also makes a wonderful decoration for a buffet table at a wedding. My cousin Patrick had one at his wedding. It was to die for.

do these idiots not understand that an ice or water canopy would have blotted out the sun and destroyed all life on the planet?
