There were no "Egyptians" until after the fall of the Tower of Babel... There was but one people because everyone shared the same language.

Funny, I don't think the Brits, Aussies, and Americans consider themselves \"one people\" even though they speak the same language. Nor the Spanish, Mexicans, Venezuelans, Chileans, etc.

Well, then, even disregarding Crosis' excellent point, I guess the Tower of Babel must've been at least 10,000 years ago, just to allow time for the various languages around at the time of the egyptians to develop. So much for the geneology of Genesis.

Ok, explain why Spain and Mexico or United States and England are all different countries.

And really, why did God bother with making everyone speak different languages? We can't reach Heaven now with space travel technology, how were a bunch of Bronze Age people supposed to reach Heaven with stones and mortar? God didn't need to garble anybody's speech. He could've just let the idiots fail.

Obvious answer: the story, like most stories in the Bible, is a fairy tale concocted by fallible humans who had no idea how vast the universe was, or why we speak different languages.

Nippy should read the Bible a couple more times... We all had one language before the Tower EXCEPT for the fact that Genesis 10:5, :20 and :31 mention the different groups that had their own languages...

Many languages are spoken in Dubai. It's where you'll find a structure infinitely higher than the Tower of Babel.

People of many nations - and languages - are/have been infinitely higher than that in Dubai.

Strange how the Burj Khalifa & International Space Station are still there, eh...?!

Nonexistent 'God', much?
