Um... What the hell?

The poster is referring to the use of a weight on a string as a dowsing or divinational instrument. The poster is condemning it in the same terms as he/she might use to condemn a Ouija board, and for essentially the same reasons -- and with just as little sense to the condemnation, since divination and spiritual contact have never been proved to exist at all.

Can we temporarily exorcise the demons of gravity from this poor tortured soul?
I'd suggest a large catapult personally.

How about your mother's pendulous breasts? Are they evil?

It gets better. Later in the thread, after a skeptic described an experiment proving that if you blindfold the participants
it stops working
So, please, don't tell me that the expermential stuff and other bogus talk.
Praise God!!!!!! Ignorance is Satan's #1 enemy
12/15/2006 2:01:44 PM
Oh, good grief! I rarely see someone claim so bluntly that ignorance is a virtue! Gads, how does a person like this function? And why is he not locked up somewhere?!?
12/15/2006 4:32:21 PM
To be honest, from the context it looks like she meant to say \"Knowledge if Satan's #1 enemy\" or \"Ignorance is Satan's #1 Ally\", but the gaffe is just to good to pass up!
To top it all off, no one on the thread seems to have picked up on this doozy.

Satan designed clockworks? Does that make Richard Dawkins a Satan-worshipper?
5/15/2007 10:33:16 AM
LMAO. Oh dear.

I read this in the voice of a voodoo priestess. That made it 10x funnier.
Note that I don't fancy Ouija boards either. A crock of shit and a waste of time AT BEST. At worst, God only knows (pardon the pun). Despite my religious status, I lean more toward Roarke on this one.
5/15/2007 12:36:06 PM
I feel so sorry for Roarke (the skeptic) on that thread. He tried so hard to show them the ouija board was a crock of shit, and they just ignored him and posted 'personal experiences'.

so I guess my nana is possessed by the pendulum in her clock?
