I really dont want to start anything. People just put too much faith in to helping people they don't know or understand. I guess living in a developed country has just led me to believe that I am more valuable to humanity than an African. Besides that racial connotaitions that you guys will take from that message just think who is worth more to our society, Me or some african guy who does nothing for society but take food with no benefit.

The world obviously doesn't take a lesson from my man JC. Why feed a man for a day when you can teach him to fish. My money would just go to some general food aid or medical aid program where the grubby africans are just taking and taking. In Kenya everyone is looking for a fucking hand out. Its like they think they deserve it.
People foolishly throw their money away to an expendable population.

Yea, that's what Jesus taught: fuck the poor, they're expendable. It's somewhere in the back of John, I'm sure.
By all means, laxrox1, let us know your useful and important contributions to the human race, I'm sure they must be on par with Newton, Pythagoras, Socrates and the others. [/Sarcasm]
Well, the implication of the words 'teach a man to fish' is fairly accurate, as there isn't much point in trying to sustain a continent ravaged by poverty through short term aid supplies, but the rest of it was just evil, evil bullshit.
Uh.... Didn't Jesus supposedly give handouts of food to 5000 people one time?
Also, sure, you can teach a man to fish, but that's no help when there's no bodies of water to fish in.
Damn! He's right! I found it right here in the Bible, (King Scrooge Version):
Luke 12
16 And he [Jesus] spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, "My money would just go to some general food aid or medical aid program where the grubby Africans are just taking and taking. In Kenya everyone is looking for a fucking hand out. Its like they think they deserve it."
19 "And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, [and] be merry. Don't foolishly throw thine money away to an expendable population'."
20 : But God said unto him, [Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 And forthright he answered God and said "should it be some African guy who does nothing for society but take food with no benefit? Fuck that. I shall lay up treasure for myself!"
Besides that racial connotaitions that you guys will take from that message...
What, like saying "You're a racist"? Can't imagine how I'd get that idea.
Do yourself a favour. Look up Stephen Lewis' Massey Lectures (they're audio too, so no need to strain yourself with that whole "reading" thing) before you say anything else about what's happening in sub-saharan Africa.
While I disagree with his point about "expendable populations", he is somewhat right about the handouts. I read some reports (sorry, lost sources long ago. Believe what you will) about charity workers in Africa and they often complained about people just waiting for handouts up to the point of demanding money so they could get married from white people. They thought that white people were there to give them money and foods so they had to do nothing. Ofcourse not all Africans are like that, and the ones that are are made so by the way charities run (you keep on giving and they receive without some kind of compensation), but they do exist. The only way to make charities work is to have people "pay" minor compensations for the food, money and education they receive, if only to show them that they'll have to take care of themselves because "we" won't stick around forever.

Then reconsider the charities you donate to. For instance, my last donation was to an Olympic wrestler named Baniel Igali, who wanted to build a school in his former villiage.
Others go to providing clean drinking water. Others to increased infrastructure - hospitals, communication networks, etc.
I think what the yob here is considering (and the only thing he's considering) is the emergency stations that refugees are fleeing to, where people don't have any farmland, or buildings, or anything else. Until they can return, they are going to be dependant for their lives on handouts.
Didn't notice before, but I love the way he capitalises "Me".
Besides that racial connotaitions that you guys will take from that message just think who is worth more to our society, Me or some african guy who does nothing for society but take food with no benefit.
That's an easy one, neither one adds to society but the African doesn't use one tenth of the ressources you waste... (not to mention that unlike you he probably is in a situation where he can't be productive, no matter how much he'd want to)
Also, Jesse Custer would never think that way.
Indeed. OTOH, I'm pretty sure he would use the Voice to tell laxativerox to go and fuck himself. I suppose you remember how this ended for Arseface's father ^^
Don't forget your parents who hatched you and threw their money away feeding, clothing, housing and 'educating' you. What a big fucking waste. Hold still, I want to harvest your pineal gland after removing it with a one-ounce shotgun slug.
Yea I wrote this. Not with my conesent may I add. Basicly what you are reading are snipits of what I wrote on Leo's Lyrics.
The JC referance was just to piss the people off on the site. I meant nothing by it. I just feel like African's, no matter their excuse, take no active intrest in improving their situation. Why can other developing countries get their shit together but Africa can't? Yout don't see massive drives to send money to Afghanistan or Vietnam.
Maby I am a fucking racist. Maby people are too blinded by helping that they don't realize their giving to a bottemless hole.
By the way I am the real laxrocks for you leaches that think that Im just some random guy.
As one who saw the entire exchange, I must say that the original reason for it was a thread about a recent cahrity trying to raise money to help Africa. I made the comment that USA For Africa and We Are The World made a lot of money but it didn't get much accomplished. I also commented on the fact that very often aid is misused in Africa.
If you read the whole thing, you still come off as a racist arrogant ignorant piece of fucking white trash. Africa's future may be bleak, but that is no reason not to help the people who are living in it now, and maybe by doing so making their lives just a wee bit better then they are now. They are people after all, just like you or I. Or do you forget that sometimes? Because I'll tell you this; there is nothing separating us from them, other then the opportunities we have, and they do not. I mean, by the way you word everything it seems like you think they all chose to be born into that horrid situation.
On a personal note, a good friend of mine was born in Africa, but his family moved here when he was very young. What does that have to do with anything? Well he's probably one of the most intelligent people I have ever known, and I can tell you with certainty that he has already accomplished more then you have in his life then you ever will in yours. To put that in perspective, he's only 18.
Oh, and I find it funny how you called everyone on this board liberals. Is that an insult now?
And Bruno64, you are right that a lot of people on this site do rush to conclusions and never read in context, however after reading his previous posts, I believe most people here are justified with their comments. He said what he said, and just because it's on the internet does not mean he can get away with it.

I hold to my original words. In addition, you shrug your shoulders as far as the 'maybe i'm a racist' thing. Make no mistake, you are. The perceived superiourity you exhibit, soley for being lucky enough not to have been born in a third world country is sickening.
You base this on what YOU see. YOU don't see Africans blah blah blah. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but one percent of what you don't see or know would be enough to fill the Grand Canyon. You chose to dismiss a whole continent worth of people for what you 'see'. How sad that an education was wasted on you when there are a billion little black boys and girls that would walk 20 miles a day to get. But no, you're so much better then them because you have an X-Box. You are pathetic, and ain't no amount of praying to jebus gonna make that better. But why learn about the real world when you gots a bible? Short answers for simple people.
There is wisdom in the old "teach a man to fish" saying. Only problem is, Jesus never said it. It's an old Chinese proverb.
Unless, as Stewie Griffin says, Jesus is Chinese.
"Yup, his last name is Hung. Jesus Hung. Says he has no idea where people are getting 'Christ' from."
Well he is technically listening to Jesus. Remember the poor woman who uses perfume on his feet? Judas points out that it could have been sold to feed the poor. And Jesus basically says "Fuck the poor, I'm Jesus!"
I just say "Fuck Jesus, I am Big Mac!"
While he is quite correct in asserting that aid should not just consist of a hand out, but instead consist of grass-roots initiatives to help people help themselves (except in the case of a drought/famine etc. where immediate, direct aid is needed) and other more comprehensive long term strategies. Where he is wrong is, well, pretty much every other word and concept in this post.
Confused?
