The evolution debate is more about Atheist forcing their doctrine of creation on Theist than about anything else. In public schools students are only taught that creation occurs by random mutation while according to Theist teachings is occurs by God’s design. Some Theist say they back Evolution but what they really back is Intelligent Design.
Christians and other religious people are just asking for freedom of religion from the Atheist oppressors.

Atheist oppressors? Can you name one openly atheist political leader in the U.S.? One Supreme Court Justice? One senator? One mayor, for fucksake?
How the fuck can atheists possibly oppress the VAST majority of U.S. citizens?
Look up oppression in the dictionary.
I have yet to hear an atheist claim that Christians were not U.S. citizens, but I have heard a U.S. president make such a claim regarding atheists.
STFU!
Creationism, flying in the face of all scientific evidence and thus relying on the supernatural, should be taught only in religious education classes if at all, and only with equal weight given to all other known creation myths. It has no place among the rational.
Intelligent Design does nothing but shift the origin question from the origin of humanity to the origin of humanity's creator, if any, so it still ultimately leads to either an unscientific conclusion (divine creation of the creator) or a scientific one (evolution of the creator). In terms of resolving the issue it is essentially either a non-argument in the case of a divinely created creator, or a self-defeating one in the case of an evolved creator (essentially saying that abiogenesis and evolution are possible and did happen, but not to us - an even shakier stance than just asserting their impossibility!).
Being denied the right to persecute others is not being persecuted yourself. Alas, it is in the minds of fundies, just as equal rights are actually special privileges when someone else wants them.
I always wondered what would happen if aliens showed up one day and said "Well duh, we designed you. Oh, and that Jesus guy? He was just insane.". It's an interesting thought experiment to see if people support ID as it is actually defined or whether they support the thinly-veiled Christian creationism that it is.
Freedom to impose THEIR RELIGION?, I´m sorry, that´s not freedom. And please, forget the delusion that it´s BASED ON EVIDENCE. It isn´t.
Have you ever wondered why Catholics and many other protestant sects don´t worry about evolutionism, ONLY EVANGELIST, PENTENCOSTALS AND OTHER SORT OF IDIOTS?. The problem is that they hold the Bible inerrant, they worship the Bible as a kind of "amulet" in a very insane way. Incidentally, if we make few exceptions with Paul and Timothy, THEY NEVER QUOTE THE NT. And more often than not THEY USE IT AS A SHIELD FOR THEIR IGNORANCE. I mean, I haven´t met yet a single person in this website critisising evolutionism, who really understands what is evolution about and science, for that matter.
Some Theist say they back Evolution but what they really back is Intelligent Design. Really? They believe in a theory that says little more than "not evolution " but are convinced they believe evolution? Those are some damn confused people!
A complex piece of logical fallacy gymnastics;
a double strawman (evolution is about the Atheist "doctrine of creation, creation occurs by random mutation) followed by a no true Scotsman (no theist actually supports evolution) to allow the argumentum ad populum (so most of us want Biblical Creationism in science classes).
Don't try this at home, you could strain something.
By the way, British colonial history and South Africa are examples of minorities opressings majorities. Can happen. Just not in this case.
the fact that this guy is christian (i mean, fundamentalist) proves that he already has a learned hatred towards just about anything.
.
also, how come i have christian friends that also believe in evolution. how about the jewish friends. yea, thought so. just another fundy against a world of change. why
Hi there, I'm a Shintoist. Not an atheist. And um... I believe in evolution. Because it's been, y'know, PROVEN.
And the idea that you're being oppressed for not being able to force your beliefs on others is ridiculous.
Science, Kerwin, science. It's not a religion, and not a philosophy, and not a doctrine. It's observable fact. You've heard of facts, I'm sure; they're those things that are true whether or not you believe in them.
Confused?
