Does any one beside me see a link between the rise of Women's Rights, and the rise of the occult?

Oh, good grief, that's like suggesting a link between the rise of women's rights and the rise of gasoline prices.
Oh, NO, you don't suppose big oil...?
~David D.G.
This even fails the "post hoc ergo procter hoc award".
High Oil Prices, Women's Rights, the growing number of chinese people in the world, the falling number of pirates, and the growth of the internet are obviously all part of the liberal conspiracy to bring to down the good old conservative values.
The rise of the occult, on the other hand, is not as easily quantifiable - it's another unproved thesis used as an argument.
And even when ignoring all these logical fallacies, this sentence is still messed up.
nope, i guess you're the only one.
perhaps women's rights increased in the same time period that occultists increased. this proves nothing. and in fact, the occult has been around far longer then the modern suffrage and feminist movement. it was just a very clandestine practice. now, it's more open. and neither of them are bad.
No, not really. And even so, what of it? Much of neopaganism is a direct backlash against Christianity and its more authoritarian and misogynistic elements. No one should applaud the spread of woo, but an oppressive belief system is likely to spawn opponents. (That was the part Marx got right in his analysis of societies -- where he failed was overgeneralizing it as an overarching theory of history and trying to extrapolate it to a utopian model.)
Does any one beside me see a link between the taking of hallucinogenic mushrooms, and the rise of unicorn/godzilla fight rates?
And why is my dead grandmother climbing my leg with a knife clenched in her teeth?
The Women's Rights were high During the Dark Ages?
Everything then was mystic, strange, magic. Like the way priests turned wine into the blood of Chris, and said a lot of strange words and then all sin was lifted.
No, I see no correlation.

Textbook example of applied fundie 'logic'. Using the same 'logic':
"Birth rates in Europe fell sharply in the last decades, while simultaneously the stork bird populations fell also significantly.
Ergo: The stork brings the babies!"
BTW: Anybody who claims that the so-called "occult" grew in the last decades should urgently look into any history book. Former times were full of superstitions, astrology, magical amulets ...

@the Good Witch
"nope, i guess you're the only one."
As an anime fan, is it just me or does Japan consider witches to be either cute:
image
(Sae Sawanoguchi, Nanaka Nakatomi and Akane Aikawa in "Mahou Tsukai Tai")
Or sexy:

(Yuuko the Dimensional Witch in CLAMP's "xxxHOLiC")
But the fact both are good . Coincidence?
'There is no such thing as Coincidence in this world. There is only Hitsuzen ('Inevitability).'
-Yuuko, "xxxHOLiC"
Confused?
