[Is racial profiling wrong?]
If you had a pack of pit bulls running thru your neighborhood eating little children in their own back yards and you had a pack of Golden retrievers running thru your neighborhood playing with the children would it be wrong to point out the difference between one dog breed versus the other?

I personally consider fundy fucktards, such as yourself, a far greater threat than pit bulls.
Your stupidity is showing, but, then again, you post on "Rapture Ready", so your stupidity was obvious before you made your pointless post.
Do the world a favour, get an education, learn to deal with reality, and, most importantly, shut the fuck up.
Have a nice day.
"If you had a pack of pit bulls running thru your neighborhood eating little children in their own back yards and you had a pack of Golden retrievers running thru your neighborhood playing with the children would it be wrong to point out the difference between one dog breed versus the other?"
As a dog breeder and trainer, I have to point out the errors in your analogy.
First, "pit bulls" are not necessarily dangerous. Just as with children, how they turn out is largely dependent on how they are raised. Dogs want to please, and if you teach them that ripping up other animals pleases you they will do that, and "pit bulls" are very good at ripping things up.
Second, the owners of the dogs are to blame when dogs are running wild. It's the people who should be hauled away.
Of course, racial profiling is wrong. If we are talking about terrorists, off the top of my head, I can think of terrorist groups in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Italy, Ireland, Indonesia, Peru, Egypt and Israel. What kind of racial profile could one establish which would include all of those groups? Racial profiling is not only abusive, it's not useful.
Such attacks say a lot more about the type of owners they have than it says about the breed of dogs. Training has more to do with this type of behavior than anything else; the only reason it happens so much with pit bulls is that they are selectively targeted for that kind of training a lot more often than golden retrievers are.
Heck, if you want to see a mindlessly vicious animal, check out a cocker spaniel or springer spaniel sometime; overzealous inbreeding has created in many of them a tendency to lash out with literally mindless violence for no apparent reason, in a seizure-like condition one veterinarian I know refers to as "Cocker Freakout Syndrome." But do spaniels get the bad press? No, just the pit bulls -- and it's entirely their owners' fault.
But back to the racial issue: Are you saying that you never see examples of violent or illicit behavior in members of your own race? (Don't claim it doesn't happen; just read the papers.) When you see it, do you think it must be because of race, or some other factor(s)? Racial profiling is touchy at best, as psychological tools go, and in my opinion it is used too often and too freely. (Oh, and in the interest of full disclosure, I am caucasian -- just FYI.)

Actually, this may be more revealing than Chahta wants it to be; hypotheticals aside, a well-trained, nicely socialized pit bull is not significantly more dangerous than a well-trained, nicely socialized golden. (Unless, I suppose, you start beating on it, and people who beat dogs deserve what they get.) The problem with pit bulls is that they are currently in vogue as a "macho, dangerous" sort of dog, which means that some of the people who get them shouldn't be responsible for any living thing more complicated than a chia pet. Neglected, ill-socialized dogs will bite people, out of fear as much as anything. If the dogs are retriever-sized or bigger, the people bitten might be badly hurt. (Any sensible vet uses a muzzle on a St. Bernard--even though they are not traditionally thought of as "fighting" dogs--because animals in pain are unpredictable, and a dog that size could frelling kill you.)
So, in short, the distinction is probably not between golden retrievers and pit bulls. It is between animals chosen and trained to be beloved house pets, and animals chosen and not-really-trained to be some sort of dogfood-powered weapon.

Nicest dog I've ever met was my friend Andy's pit bull, Bubbles.
Alternatively, the most annoying dog my family's ever owned was a golden retriever. Good dog, really, but she liked to howl. A lot.
My point is just that Chahta's an asshat.
Mike: "People aren't breeds and we're definately himuch higher on the order of animals."
On what scale does one rank the order of animals?
Whales are much better at distance swimming, free-diving and eating krill than humans. Maggots run circles around humans when it comes to eating garbage and sewage. Humans are the most technologically advanced, I'll give you that, but higher... I don't know if we can judge that.
Oh I forgot to add, white people in america seem to be more likely to commit violent crime, even with out oppression, go figure.
I disagree. There very much are human breeds. They just aren't always bred from the same kind.
This clown, clearly, comes from the "asshat" breed. Very commonly found on this board.
But he's a mutt, because he's also mixed with a "racist fuckwit" breed.
You're still wrong. Pit bulls can be very nice dogs. In fact, most of them are. It's just that they're big and some people train them to be mean, just like rottweilers and other big dogs that many people think are violent.
Strawman, false dichotomy, and apples and oranges,
If you had a pack of pit bulls running thru your neighborhood eating little children in their own back yards, and you had a pack of Golden retrievers running thru your neighborhood eating little children in their own back yards.
Would it matter what breed they were?
Conversely if pit bulls were well raised and loved, would they still be vicious? The answer is no.
In this case it isn't about breeds or race (as people have pointed out) but about membership of a certain group. If there was a golden retriever among the pit bulls, would he be innocent? Ofcourse not. Just as a pit bul who was with the innocent golden retrievers wouldn't be guilty just because he was a pit bull.
So if you want to make a statement about how they are different, talk about the groups they belong to, not what physical properties they've got. Muslim vs Christian is wrong, terrorist vs non-terrorist is right. Why? Because you are only refering to the relevant group membership. Christians, just as muslims, can be a member of any one of the two groups, therefore racial profiling is just showing your biased behaviour against people you do not like based on superficial properties.
Nice sweeping statements, pre-judging, racist, ignorant response. And comparing people to animals running wild in the street? *kisses fingertips* Ahh, the icing on the cake!
Shitstain...

If you had a red=headed woman running through your neighborhood eating little children would you assume that all red-headed women in the world did exactly the same?
Where is this red-head exactly? Is she a MAN-eater by any chance? ;)
Maybe this is who you meant...

While I despise the generality of "pit bull = blood-crazed hound-of-hell" as much as the next animal lover, that's really not the point.
Here, the idea is that people can be classified. In any way. Even we can't say for certain why this witless wonder turned out the way they did, though we label them "fundie" and have done with it. It could be their parents, the circumstances of their birth, or their need to ribe the short bus for the last ten years before hitting the ripe age of sixteen and discovering that nobody can kick their ass over the internet. The point is...ah fuck it. I hate them, too.
“If there were a pack of golden retrievers running thru the neighbourhood preaching christian fundamentalism to little children in their own back yards and there were a pack of Pit Bulls running thru your neighbourhood devouring the children, I would gleefully feed my kids to the Pit Bulls.” There! Now, doesn’t that sound better?
First of all, I hate golden retrievers- almost as much as I hate stupid white men such as yourself. I hope that one day a pit bull mauls your ass and I hope that all of your (presumably racist) family gets gang raped and then eaten alive by a pack of stray golden retrievers. I can't believe there are still people in this world who are ever so willing to shamelessly broadcast their stupidity online. I hope you rot in hell, you stupid bastard.
Agreed, remix. Come on people, are we trying to be haters or reasonable human beings? Leave families out of it, if nothing else.
Hey, hey, don't bash the pit bulls. They're perfectly nice dogs, if you give them a chance. [/is a breed fancier]
Besides, no offence to any Golden Retriever people out there, but IMHO, Golden Retrievers are so nice to everything because they don't have enough brains to fill a teaspoon. Just saying....
I'd be happy to let anyone within earshot know how completely brainless, stinky, intrusive, clumsy (did I mention brainless?) dirty and useless golden retrievers are. Unless you are a duck hunter or something along those lines, the breed is entirely pointless. Pit bulls on the other hand and smart, loyal, clean, and they protect you AND your children. Case in point, two days ago I was in the backyard with my my two kids playing with the water hose. A creepy guy that I've seen around the last couple of days OPENS up the gate and walks into our backyard. My husband's golden goes up to him all happy wagging it's tail while I'm asking the guy to PLEASE LEAVE NOW. (Aren't dogs supposed to sense things?!) The guy keeps walking toward us, and then my little black pit that was napping inside comes hauling out of the house toward the guy barking and then stops dead in front of him and just looks at him and growls. The guy literally turned and RAN out the gate. She barked a couple of times and trotted back into the yard. Nothing excessive. Just enough. She's super sweet and affectionate, but she knows WHO to be sweet and affectionate with. And I do know what she would've done had creepo not turned around and hauled off. Meanwhile the golden is just standing there looking around, if anything, probably just irritated she's not getting any attention. Absolutely worthless. Would it be wrong to point out that pit bulls were considered "the family dog" at the turn of the century. Now it's the golden? Talk about the "dumbing down of America" Ugh. Pathetic.
Confused?
