Because giving in to a child's every demand is a brilliant way to raise a kid, and will certainly ensure they end up "nice".

Oh wow. And there I am, poor deluded athiest, thinking that it was ok to let kids be raised by the family dog. *sarcasm*
"if you never say NO to a child, eventually they will become a murderer, rapist or both"
Just for that excessively creepy comment, you are banned from ever reproducing. Out of the gene pool this instant!

How did you get from "children needs limits" to "children must be raised in a Godly household"?

Actually my mother’s philosophy in raising my sister and me was to never say no, until we were about 3. She would distract us from our desires, like, “Mommy can we go to the park?” “Yes of course! Let’s go tomorrow if its not raining.” Or “Can I have a cookie?” “That’s sounds delicious let’s have them after dinner.” This way she never had toddlers screaming “NO!” at her. I still don’t really get how she did it, but we both turned out very well. (By the way, she also never taught us about religion, never even did timeouts let alone spanking, and sent us to the evil DAYCARE yet we are still healthy, well adjusted people.)

I was raised in an atheist household. My parents said "No' to me a lot. I agree that children need limits but non-Christian households can provide those limits just as well as Christian ones.

I just read yesterday in a great book on rearing children, that if you never say NO to a child, eventually they will become a murderer, rapist or both.
Is there a credible study for this, or do you believe everything you read?
Children must be raised by their parents in a Godly household....
Alot of murders, rapist, and bad people came from christian families.

Well, now - I think old George HW & Babsie pretty much left the Little Shrubster do whatever he wanted . . .
and look at how he turned out . . .

I was going to say: how could you possibly not say no to a child at some point? Guess I just did. It's to keep them safe and from damaging property usually. What else would you do when they're pulling at the blinds or crawling behind the tv? Humans need to be trained, nothing is in-born when it comes to human society. In fact "No" is one of the first words they learn.
Aside to hGoddess you had a marvelous mother.

Come to my house and try to go five minutes without telling my two year old "no". But really, go sit on a sharp object.

They must be raised by their parents is a GOOD household. In a Godly househould they still can grow to become cunts.
