While I think some homos develop their homosexuality over the years, the majority are probably born that way. It's just like Down's Syndrome.

@Sideshow Bob
It may be wrong of me, but when someone refers to me as homosexual instead of gay, I have gotten to the point of assuming they are at least ignorant and at worst bigoted. I prefer to be called gay.
You have to love the compassion in this post, what a total wanker.
@Brainy: I've heard similar things from other gay men, they say that only people who are uncomfortable with gay people use more supposedly "pc" words like homosexual, while people who don't mind/care say gay.
Ummmmmmm... no.
It's possible for someone to develop a modicum of bisexuality over the years with some positive reinforcement, but that's just a broadening of one's pleasure horizons. One is not going to run off with the same-sex third in a threesome just because they like taking it up the butt from another guy once in a while. (Well, unless they're truly bisexual to begin with, but that's another story.)
Comparing homosexuality to Downs Syndrome... that's sort of like saying photic sneeze reflex is a genetic disorder. Unlike, say, Huntington's Disease, it does not impair survival. So... not really valid.
This fundy is getting close. It pisses me off that it is that it comparible to a terrible genetic disease and at the same time kind of conflates it with profound mental retardation.
The insults these people retch up amases me.
It's not JUST like Down's, it's barely kind of like Down's, in that both are inherent. But so is the eye color and the number of toes as well. Most people have dark brown-black eyes, some people have blue or green eyes. Most people have five toes on each foot, some people have four or six, most people have 46 chromosomes, some people have 47, most people are heterosexual, some people are bisexual or homosexual.
Do you hate people with Down's? Would you deny people with green eyes to marry each other? Sure, a lot of idiots treat people with Down's badly, so there's a second similarity.
Confused?
