Quote# 2066

Seriously I am just relaying and confirming that the God of the bible condones slavery, and Jesus did not say anything about abolishing slavery.

Yet another reason to suspect the bible is just a bunch of nonsense, not inspired by some enlightened supreme being.

Well, this comment isn't that fundie. It's just stating stuff we know, not drawing any conclusions from it.

Of course your god would condone slavery; your bible essentially asserts that we are his slaves, in all but name (and there are some fundies that are even happy to take that name, if only their god is their owner)! It'd be kind of hard for him to condemn the concept without people asking a lot of awkward questions about all those orders he keeps giving on pain of eternal torture.

Of course, god says so, so that makes it okay!

"Jesus did not say anything about abolishing slavery."

Correct.
Jesus never existed, either.

Not as bad as someone who denies it.

Fortunately, civilized societies don't give a flying fuck what the god of the bible says.
