And the difference between 'faith' and a persistent delusional state is what exactly?

If your faith in your sky daddy is so weak that even a whiff of rationality blows it away...
There are no words to describe how pathetic you are.

I don't use the word "truth" anymore. Too many shitheads attach it to whatever they have been bamboozled into believing.

From personal experience, this completely and utterly true. Faith had turned me into something almost monstrous. It changes the way you see the world, and causes you attribute rationality to the devil, and simply trust what God, or people claiming to speak for God say.
Faith cannot be taken away, it can only be given up. You cannot lose unless you willingly examine it, and for me, looking at my faith with a critical eye felt like a horrible sin. Reading the bible thinking 'Is this word of God' instead of 'This IS the word of God' felt dirty.
Faith is like a pervasive mind virus that eats into everything that makes you who you are. It controls you on the deepest levels, it controls what you think, your morals, your feelings, your love, your hate. It takes control from yourself, and puts it in the hands of old books and old men who claim to understand what those books really mean.
Faith is trust perverted and abused.

Faith is believing what you know ain't true._________ Mark Twain (?)
Who I also think made the comment that he would attempt to believe as many as six impossible things before breakfast.
I used to work for a fundie who would say "Oh, I know it's (a), but I think it's (b), so I'm going with (b)."
