Quote# 2167

Thank God for the Flood, many lost sinners came to repentance because of it. Sound like a familiar society? Think God wont do this again in the future? Think again. Hes coming back.

If god flooded the world because it was too evil, why did he let it go bad again? And by the way, your bibble says that the rainbow was the sign that god wouldn't flood the earth again.

If thought God promised us he wouldn't do it again.

Adrian, he promised not to flood the earth again; completely flood, killing all by drowning. According to popular readings (common to RaptureReady, at least), he has still promised to destroy everything again but with disease, famine and war. With rising saltwater, evaporating fresh, changing climate and inevitable conflicts, global warming can still have its shake at bringing an end to our sinful ways.

Damn fine print... It's like God promised never to murder again by shooting, only to stab someone to death with a bullet.

Sure! Right! Oh, there's that pesky little passage about the Covenant...A real Bible expert here.

You know why God promised not to flood the earth again -- it was just such a huge production to manage. Trying to save all those animals, dealing with the water canopy and then having to dry everything out -- it's a big PITA. Fire is much easier to handle, and with disease he can choose to just punish the people and not bother with the animals at all.

Really? Just as they drowned?

Actually, God promised not to destroy humanity directly. That promise isn't restricted to just flooding, but it also doesn't prevent us from destroying ourselves.

I guess he forgot the part of the bible where God makes a covenant with Noah to never flood the Earth again.

Oh wait, fundies don't read the Bible anymore. My bad.

\"After the Flood, God gave a sign:
No more water, fire next time!\"

Thank God for the Flood, many lost sinners came to repentance because of it.
And there was I, thinking they all died.
