"Therefore it gives you carte blanche to behave in any way you see fit."
I'll take non-sequitor for fish, Alex.

"then how I behave on this earth has no real consequence".
Define real, please. I don't think it means what you think it does.

The Duelist
What strikes me as convenient is that once God turns *you* into a "Chosen One", and *everyone else* into "godless heathens", you get the carte blanche to behave in any way you want(kill them, rape them, steal their land that God promised to you, deny reality, etc., etc., etc....

If facts are convenient for the other side, you might just be wrong...

"...then how I behave on this earth has no real consequence."
- Actually, that's the evangelical Christian outlook. You know, the one that says you are saved by grace and that god doesn't care what you do as long as you say the magic words before you die. In other words, as an evangelical Christian you have carte blanche permission to behave in any way you see fit. No matter how much pain and turmoil you cause, you'll still be forgiven.
As an atheist, I know this life is all I have. I do not want to spend it in prison, or alienated from potential friends and associates. We call it natural consequences, and it works far better than threats of temper tantrums by supernatural entities.

How is demanding proof for what you believe rather than closing your eyes and charging forward is weak?

So says the one afraid to think for themselves.
