Really? Then why is Mexico such a dirt-poor nation, when its people are so fervently religious? We'd have much less illegal immigration if God would just pay his followers down there a little bonus once in a while!

<<< The poor wouldn't be poor if they learned to listen to Jesus >>>
... and give all their things away and follow him? Sounds to me like they'd be poorer! (Then again, it's not like most fundies - or mainstream Christians, for that matter - follow that particular verse.)

Then why do panhandlers always bless me?

Why are there so many dirt poor folks in the Bible Belt?
Ever see the millions of rusted out junkers rolling down the road with fundy bumper stickers holding them together?
I doubt Jeebus loves them any more than Jerry Falwell did.

What ever happened to "It's easier for a camel to go through an eye of an needle, than it is for a rich man to enter heaven"?

"For ye have the poor always with you..." Matt 26:11
And that is the KJV version of the verse, so how does that imply that 'listening to Jesus' will stop them being poor?

Wasn't Jesus poor? By choice???!!!
Didn't he say a lot of good shit about the poor and a lot of bad shit about the rich?
I'm just saying. I like Jesus, but his followers really suck.

Fuck you is the first thought that comes to mind
The next thought that comes to mind is did not Jesus COMMAND you to sell all of your possessions and give it to the poor?
Christianity has as much to do with Christ, as Dogma has to do with poodles.

For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God bitch!!!!!

No they'd be stupid and poor. Way to make a difference.

It's like these people purposely ignore every good part of the Bible, yet cling to the hateful, stupid parts about it...
12/2/2009 5:45:19 AM
The word you are looking for is "zero" dimwit.
Jesus never existed.

Oh, go fuck yourself. The Bible Belt has the poorest most assisted states in America. Try something else you lying piece of shit. Born to money and a follower of prosperity gospel white trash probably. Tell me, What are your kids gonna have when you've blown the inherintence on showing off?
Yeah, I'm reaching but Live4Jesus has led a sheltered life to suggest such shit.

Everyone knows God loves poor people. That's why he made so many of them.

If the rich people who called themselves Christians learned to listen to Jesus, there wouldn't be so many poor.
10/22/2012 9:12:23 AM
Thats not what Jesus himself said.
He said the poor will always be here, dont worry about them.
10/22/2012 9:19:49 AM
If YOU listened to Jesus, you would know that We told you to give up your possessions and help the poor.

"And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head."
Luke 9:58 (KJV)
- So, if Jesus had been a better Christian, he wouldn't have been poor, right?
8/27/2013 5:59:12 AM
It's not the poor that need to learn to listen to Jesus, stupid, but the rich. Jesus said, clearly and uneqivocally, that his followers should sell their possessions and give the money to the poor.
Have you done that, yet, Live4Jesus? Why not? Have YOU not learned to listen to Jesus?
8/28/2013 5:19:13 AM
The poor wouldn't be poor if the
learned to listen to Jesus, many lives
have been changed.

material poor versus spirit poor Massive difference
8/28/2013 6:58:59 AM
There's a "Blessed are the poor in spirit" clause somewhere is there?
If this were taken literally, I can understand how this is here. But if this refers to the spiritually poor who find fulfilment in Christianity, that's a completely different matter.
8/28/2013 8:28:34 AM
@ Sharon Young
The "in spirit" addendum is found in Matthew. In Luke it specifically says "blessed are the poor." Clearly the authors of Matthew and Luke had different messages for their respective audiences. Its not a contradiction though.
At least that's what I'm told.
