In the passage from Acts, there are all kinds of animals. Clearly it is not a sin to eat meat.
The question, however, is whether it is a sin to not eat meat. I believe it is. We need to eat a balanced, healthy diet and part of that balance is meat. Meat contains vitamins and minerals that we need to survive.
Besides, in my own observations, I have yet to see a vegetarian who actually looks like they are healthy and happy.

I know some vegans that are quite happy and healthy thanks.
I've frequently complemented cutting meat out of my diet and becoming a ovo-lacto-vegetarian. Too wussy to go vegan. Plus, I hate almost all vegetables, so if I only ate vegetables I'd die of either boredom or malnutrition.
Maybe I'll just cut poultry and mammal meat out and eat fish, and eggs and milk and vegetables. Fish is good for you.
In the passage from Acts, there are all kinds of animals. Clearly it is not a sin to eat meat. Of course not. God fully intends for us to kill and eat his creation. Makes perfect sense, when I take good photos I want people to eat them, too.
The question, however, is whether it is a sin to not eat meat. I believe it is. Where's the Scriptural Evidence he seemed to rely above? Why is he suddenly able to declare Sins for himself now?
Is his way of reasoning really "if the Bible doesn't cover it and I like it, it's OK, but if the doesn't cover it and I dislike it, it's Sin"?
We need to eat a balanced, healthy diet and part of that balance is meat. Not so. Ever heard of supplement pills?
Meat contains vitamins and minerals that we need to survive. Not so. You can perfectly well survive a vegetarian diet. You'll end up with malnutrition, but you'll survive.
Besides, in my own observations, I have yet to see a vegetarian who actually looks like they are healthy and happy. I have yet to see a single person eat octopus. Hence, octopus-eating does not exist.
As a side note, eating lots of junk food actually makes you unhealthy. Why isn't he declaring that a Sin? Why isn't he declaring it a Sin not to work out regularly? Why isn't he declaring it a Sin not to drink lots of water?
Not to mention smoking cannabis like Jesus, living in urban areas, and drinking alcohol?
Randy, cheezwhiz is not a vegetable.
I know plenty of vegetarians/vegans and people (mostly girls) who simply prefer veggies to meat as a matter of taste. They're no more or less happy than anyone else, though usually a fair bit healthier.
I myself am something of a carnivore.. love meat, especially chicken. It'll probably kill me quicker in the end, but I have been eating a lot more veggies/fruits than I used to. (and judging from bro.randy's picture, I'm probably a good hundred pounds or two lighter)

I eat octopus sometimes and I think it is quite tasty. :)
Seriously though, Bro. Randy must be going off the deep-end. Saying it is wrong to refrain from eating meat has got to be the most ridiculous pile of fundy legalist bullshit I've ever heard.
Well, there's relaxed and normal vegetarians as well as priggish and self-righteous ones, and there's neurotic and control-freaky meat eaters as well as gentle and easygoing ones. Your diet does not make you what you are, though in certain circumstances it can certainly bring out your inner asshole.
And it's as much a sin (if I may use the word) to force people to eat something they don't want. I wonder how many Spanish conversos were actually observant Catholics who just didn't care for pork because they'd never eaten it as Jews, and there was the Inquisition forcing it down their throats out of pure spite.

I believe shiitake mushrooms, kelp and seaweed are a good source of those nutrients otherwise unobtainable to vegans; I also gather eggs, milk and so forth are quite adequate for vegetarians.

Do you ever go out in public? A significant fraction of those happy, normal people you see going about their daily lives are almost certainly vegetarian, probably quite a few vegan too. Personally, I know at least one vegetarian who is also a severe hottie, which pretty much crushes your argument.
Does eveything that comes out of this guys mouth have to be stupid? Where, even in your babble, does it say that not eating meat is a sin? Are you writing your own like Joseph Smith? Leave those poor kids alone you stupid perv!

I know a vegan hottie, unfortunately I can't live with waking up in the morning and having water on my cornflakes.
Linda MacArtney?. By the way, did you know that if you eat vegetables, fruit, cheese, milk or pasta you eat all those ingredients, only that in a smaller quantity?, and where do these things appear in the Bible, in the first place?, doesn´t it forbid two of the main sources of proteines and essential oils like omega 3(lobster and pig) and combinations which are benefitial to the body?
The worst of it is, if I'm right in assuming the passage from the book of Acts he's citing is chapter 10, verses 9 - 23, the entire point of the passage is that God was opening the gospel message up to the Gentile world. IT'S NOT ABOUT WHETHER IT'S OKAY TO EAT MEAT!!!
Geeze, Bro. Randy must have been hungry when he wrote this.
Ummm...
Nice to meet you. I have been a vegetarian for two years, weigh 185 lbs (less than when I was eating meat), and recently had bloodwork performed which showed that I am healthy and getting all the vitamins and minerals I need without meat. I respect your desire to eat meat, now leave those of us who don't alone.
"The question, however, is whether it is a sin to not eat meat. I believe it is."
Paul addressed that issue in 1st Corinthians. He told his followers not to eat meat (in effect to become vegetarians) because the meat that was available to them had been dedicated to pagan gods. Try actually reading the bible instead of thumping it Randy.
Well, if you believe in god, his original intent was to hang in the garden with two naked vegetarians.
Even if your god intended for humans to eat animals, I'm pretty sure that no decent higher power would have wanted to see animals treated the way they are in modern-day industrial facilities.
I'm not going to debate the health of a vegan diet except to say that you can get everything you need to survive with fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, and nuts.
Me, I'm a snarky healthy vegan going on seven years now. I'm not happy when I have to deal with idiots who try to use their god to justify animal abuse. So you meathead fundies can go fuck yourself.
I have been a vegetarian my whole life since I was about one, by choice, and I am very well-nourished ad healthy. I'm unhappy sometimes because my family is predisposed to severe depression, plus I have crippling aspergers.
I don't 'condemn' people who eat meat. I just don't want to be around the stuff, or have it cooked in my house, since the smell alone is disgusting.
Since i've been a vegetarian so long, I can't turn back.
My brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew, my other sister-in-law and my best friend are all more or less vegetarians. Some of them eat fish and seafood. None of them eat meat from land-living animals. They all look healthy and happy, certainly more healthy than me, as I'm somewhat overweight.
I just spent a few weeks with my other brother and sister-in-law. We ate fairly few things from the animal kingdom, but we were still happy and healthy.
Randy Randy probably only observe teenage girls, some of whom might not know how to eat a healthy and balanced diet with no meat. You can't just skip the steak and only eat potatoes and lettuce, ya know.
Confused?
