Cross out the "and you have to employ me" part and you're absolutely correct. Oh, and since when atheists want to work at churches? Now, if I was starving, I'd definitely seek for work everywhere, and I could turn to your church. Wouldn't you do the right thing then?
Ok, I'm gay...I've done construction work (volunteer work with my church, on missions trips).

Okay, I'm gay but I defend some of what he said. If someone tells their employer you have to hire me/can't fire me/pay me more because I'm (insert minority group here).

I was thinking the connection was working with something that tempts you. That could make sense if we assume the gay construction worker's cow-orkers are all hunky men...
But then I noticed the atheist one, that breaks the pattern, since atheists are clearly not tempted by churches. Damn, I have no clue.

That's right. I walk up to a prospective employer and say "I'm gay! Now hire me!" As for be nice to me, I could care less if you're nice to me. Just so long as it's not abusive, you can shake your fist at me all you want. Acknowledge me? Meh. I could care less.
But I love the undercurrent of you can be gay if you want, so long as we don't have to recognize the fact that you are.

Why are gays and construction work incompatible?
Nobody has to employ anyone, stupid, but you're not allowed to discriminate in the employing process due to race, age, gender, sexual orientation and disability. If a woman is strong enough to handle construction work, you can't refuse to employ her because she's a woman. If a gay person has the qualifications you can't refuse to employ her in day care due to her sexual orientation.
Btw, I have never heard any gay person making statements like that. Which is perhaps why I accept them as the individuals that they are.
