The Watcher

As my own opinion, you're a bigoted moron.

3/31/2007 11:01:17 PM

George Washington is spinning in his grave.

3/31/2007 11:02:00 PM

Jefferson would've shot you right there.

3/31/2007 11:43:29 PM

Brian X

Well, too bad, because that's not what the Constitution says.

3/31/2007 11:55:26 PM

Old Viking

We'll certainly keep your opinion in mind.

4/1/2007 12:00:00 AM

Your opinion had been duly noted, and dismissed.

4/1/2007 12:03:04 AM

There are over 150 \"graduates\" from Pat Robertson's Regent University working in the White House right now.

And this is the result.

Still impressed?

4/1/2007 12:09:19 AM

And your own opinion is pretty fucked-up and worthless.

4/1/2007 12:47:02 AM

Well, you've got one vote.

4/1/2007 12:49:36 AM

Well your lucky, They are not, but thats all there is.

4/1/2007 1:18:10 AM

Keith Ellison and Pete Stark want a word with you, Amishis^Ht.

4/1/2007 2:01:22 AM

The Bill of Rights disagress.

4/1/2007 2:39:03 AM

thats pretty much how the american government is run nowadays so you got your wish

4/1/2007 2:59:36 AM

Which is pretty much how it is in reality, you idiot. Admit to being a Buddhist or a Muslim or a Hindu and then just try to get elected in this country. It's so rare that a non Christian (except, of course for Mormons in Utah) gets elected that when it does happen it makes national news.

Which is sad, really, since we are supposed to be a nation without such barriers.

4/1/2007 4:42:38 AM

So, I think that the very founding fathers shouldn´t have existed in the first place

4/4/2007 7:24:32 PM

It's my personal opinion that idiots shouldn't be in government but unfortuently we elected one as president.

4/6/2007 3:45:45 PM

Osiris FTW

4/7/2007 1:31:18 AM

Your living license has been revoked due to skull vacancy.

5/30/2007 12:43:35 PM

I don't think this is fundie. Granted, he's an idiot and a moron, but I think all he's trying to say is he'll only vote for Christians. Which is his right.

David D.G.

Robbie: Wrong. Reread that comment. He said quite explicitly, "I think only christians should be allowed in government here in the US." He wants the pool of candidates limited to nothing but Christians long before the point at which his or anyone else's vote enters into it. This is like Henry Ford famously saying, "Anyone can have a Model T in any color he wants, so long as it is black."

Sadly, I believe the Texas laws actually do require that anyone seeking public office "must believe in God." I don't think the law gets any more specific than that, so it doesn't necessarily limit the field to Christians only (though I am sure that was the intent, and is almost certainly the practical result anyway), but this still prohibits such types as Buddhists, agnostics, and atheists from holding public office in Texas, by law.

Now, what is it I keep hearing about all this "Christian persecution"? The only persecution that I see involving Christians is their persecution of others!

who gets to decide whether a politician is "Christian"? even people who call themselves Christian don't agree on one another

i mean, do i get to chose who is "Christian"? 'cause i possibly could get behind that. maybe. i AM kinda lazy and all, and that sounds like work
