Quote# 2316

[On miscarriage]Well, if you think about it, that's probably the BEST thing, as far as the baby goes, because he/she goes straight from the womb to heaven for eternity.

"In other words, your honor, no, I don't consider beating my pregnant wife a crime. And if it's not too much trouble, I'd like the remains of my child to put on my anti-abortion poster."

So then what's the problem with abortion?

As the would-have-been father of two miscarried babies, all I can say is go and die in a fucking fire.

Erm, what about that original sin malarky? I thought Eve screwed over everyone when she chomped on that Golden Delicious, including the unborn.

Just one more reason why Christianity is a crock.

So why aren't you hanging around nurseries and kindergartens, looking for opportunities to kill innocent little kids?

Actually, if you die as a child you go to Limbo, and get to stand around in the middle of nowhere doing nothing seeing nothing experiencing nothing and generally being bored and lost for all eternity. Suddenly doesn't seem like the best place to send your kid, does it?

As the person who experienced the remains of the possible baby leaking out of my body during two painful weeks; no there was no "BEST thing" about that. And, did you forget to read about Limbo in that precious Bible of yours?

Limbo is un-Biblical, so for once fundies that don't mention it are better off. Only they aren't because under their logic stillborns, infants, miscarried children etc. did not profess faith in Christ as their "Personal Saviour" (patent pending), nor were they baptised. And that means they're going straight to pits of hell.
Also, I can understand the "the best thing for a human is to die right after birth" sentiment, it's been around with us for centuries. But usually it comes from appreciating that this world is not exactly the friendliest place possible. And God help you if you express this sentiment near a parent that lost their child - for noone else will.
