Quote# 2331

[After someone explains carbon dating doesn't work on things over 50,000 years old]Well, When I was in high school, back in the 80s, the carbon dating method was used to destroy my faith in Jesus Christ. Whether or not it is used today for dating 50000 years out. So now its known not to work so well on those ~5 million year old fossils.

That's why we have other forms of radiometric dating, fuckwit.

Seems your faith in Jesus Christ has revived, whatever carbon dating has to do with Jesus.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.....

carbon dating NEVER worked on million year olf fossils, it always had a limit around 35,000 years and newer equipment might be able to get to 50,000 of a lot of care is taken.

also fossils tend to contain no carbon so carbon dating a rock that does not contain carbon is just dumb.

Potassium-argon dating. Goes back hundreds of millions of years and works better on bones anyway.

"the carbon dating method was used to destroy my faith in Jesus Christ."

Bullshit. You never had a reason to believe in Jesus in the first place, you just did because you were told to, and it's obvious that no amount of scientific evidence ever defundies anyone.

You didn't really manage to learn much in high school, did you?
