[After someone explains carbon dating doesn't work on things over 50,000 years old]Well, When I was in high school, back in the 80s, the carbon dating method was used to destroy my faith in Jesus Christ. Whether or not it is used today for dating 50000 years out. So now its known not to work so well on those ~5 million year old fossils.

carbon dating NEVER worked on million year olf fossils, it always had a limit around 35,000 years and newer equipment might be able to get to 50,000 of a lot of care is taken.

also fossils tend to contain no carbon so carbon dating a rock that does not contain carbon is just dumb.
