Quote# 2345

I just took a college class called "Music In World Cultures". Some of what we discussed dealt with how tribal and religious cultures use music in their spiritual rituals. Some work themselves into a frenzy, and eventually go into trance...or more appropriately labeled, possession.

WOW, that's weird! Music in spiritual rituals? Like hymns in church? And they go into a frenzy/trance? like snake handling or speaking in tongues? (shivers) I can practically feel the evil now!

Tormentor of Religion

As I recall, the tribes use drugs to achieve that effect...
But as the above poster already pointed out, your brains are underdeveloped enough to do that by themselves.

This isn't very fundie at all. Even the bit about it being possession is not strictly inaccurate, since many such tribes do believe that they become possessed during those rituals and some legitimate researchers consider the supernatural as possible reasons for the behaviour.

key word "Religious", something you totally missed

Seen a lot of crazy Christian shit on youTube that proves your people are both pagan and tribal

Blaidd Drwg

As far as the "Trance" isconcerned, did you ever look around in church while the congregation was singing a hymn? The people look positvely mesmerized - or stoned...

Big part of why I don't go any more.
