Quote# 24254

Though one can point to Cho's own psychotic behavior and our graphic slasher media as potential contributors to his deplorable murder spree, we must also hesitate to consider how we as a society are possibly contributing to the growth of these academic killing fields. I believe those who wield the baton of the secular progressive agenda bear significant responsibility for the escalation of school shootings. Even conservatives who refuse to speak when evil flourishes must acknowledge some culpability.

We teach our children they are nothing more than glorified apes, yet we don't expect them to act like monkeys. We place our value in things, yet expect our children to value people. We disrespect one another, but expect our children to respect others. We terminate children in the womb, but are surprised when children outside the womb terminate other children. We push God to the side, but expect our children to be godly. We've abandoned moral absolutes, yet expect our children to obey the universal commandment, ''Thou shalt not murder.''

He was actually starting out fairly well, but then went straight downhill when he started talking about monkeys.

Morals are subjective, although most people would agree with \"Thou shalt not murder\".

Don't worried, Ted. I think Chuck Norris jokes died a while ago. They experienced a brief revival as Vin Diesel and Jack Bauer jokes, but they're gone... for the moment at least.

*sigh* Another douchebag using a tragedy as a springboard for his religious/political agenda. Fucking vultures.

Chucky, since these sprees are only known in the USA, and the guy was Korean, and some of the most eloquent and graphic violence in America comes from your movies, you should stop being such a bad analyst.

But the \"thou shall not kill\" commandment hasn't stopped christians from murdering.

Wow, just, wow.
I'm sorry, but an awareness of how humans evolved has no bearing on how I live my day-to-day life, and I would never, EVER, expect my children to be \"godly\".

We teach our children they are nothing more than glorified apes, yet we don't expect them to act like monkeys.
As opposed to you teaching your children that they came from dirt and that they are worthless without this "god" character.

We place our value in things, yet expect our children to value people.
I value the people I know more than my "things".

We terminate children in the womb, but are surprised when children outside the womb terminate other children.
Zygotes are not children.
Abortion is not murder.
The bible does advocate murder.

We push God to the side, but expect our children to be godly.
I don't expect my future child to be "godly". I just expect him/her to be a good, respectable, citizen.

We've abandoned moral absolutes, yet expect our children to obey the universal commandment, ''Thou shalt not murder.''
If god cannot follow his "don't kill" rule, then why should he expect us to?

Also, most of the fault for the VTech shooting lies with horrible gun salesman. It is unlawful for any gun or pawn shop to sell a gun to someone with a history of a mental illness. Cho had a mental illness, but the shop ignorned that, and sold him a gun.

So Chuck, what did your movies teach young people? That the guy who beats up another guy automatically has right on his side? That the successful use of guns determines who are the "good guys"and who are the "bad guys?" That anyone who waves the flag and says "I love America" must be right, regardless of any other actions that person takes or orders?

But then, those movies made you lots of money and earned you a lot of prestige. Since you're a good guy, your movies must be a force for good, right?

The savior you claim to respect told you to take the plank out of your eye before you worry about the mote in your neighbor's. Shouldn't you be listening to him?

We teach our children that they are special individuals, who deserve respect for their unique person, and that they should show the same respect for all humans and animals.

We are not "glorified apes", we are ordinary great apes. We are NOT monkeys, they are a different family from us.

God said in the Bible that those who want to follow Jesus should sell all their possessions and give the money to the poor. Have you done that yet?
God in the Bible said to kill every man, woman, child and ox in several neighboring countries, but to spare the virgin girls to take as brides. How's that for absolute morals?

Most school shootings seem to happen in religious countries, strangely enough.
