I totally agree -- Christianity and evolution are completely incompatible. Christians who believe in evolution or a "symbolic" interpretation of what became the Bible are NOT true Christians. Period. Timeline of dog domestication? PROVE IT. Our own history only goes back a few thousand years. And this was a time when the greatest civilizations were ever built. But before that? Nothing. Zip. Nada. Explain that one.

And this was a time when the greatest civilizations were ever built.
There were some pretty impressive civilizations around more than 6000 years ago. Get your head out of your ass and you might learn something.
Guess I'm not a True Christian, then. Since I don't feel Genesis (the first account of creation in my NRSV - Catholic Edition, Bible) inherently contradicts with evolution. The Bible states days, yes, but never specific timing. For all we know, a 'day' to God, could be millions of years.
Also, you're an arrogant dick to think YOU have any say on whether a person is Chritian or not. But you're a Fundie, so being arrogant goes without saying, really.
The Chinese have maintained a coherent, reliable record of their history back more than 5000 years. (Which, by the way, also contains a pretty definitive description of dog domestication.) The Egyptians go back nearly as far.
But before that? Nothing. Zip. Nada. Explain that one.
wth? didn't 'god' exist?? how the hell do you "explain that one"??
*sigh* Another victim of young-earth propaganda.
There is a historical record going well before "a few thousand years" ago. It's all over cave walls, in carved statues and figurines, in stone tools and old cooking pits and dumping grounds. How else does he think we've plotted the probable migration of humanity outward from Africa? Oh, wait, a young-earth fundie doesn't believe that either.
So YECs are the only true Christians. Fascinating. I guess all 11 years of Bible study, accepting Christ as my personal savior and learning more about how the Big Guy does His thing and how to live by His Word amounts to nothing.
5 Squeebounces, and be thankful that it doesn't go higher.
Okay, well you see, your book isn't reality. People that couldn’t have had any idea that the earth was 4.6 billion years old wrote it. Hell, they probably didn't have a concept of a number that high. Talk to a ten-year old, their whole life revolves around the last five years of their life. The guys writing the bible figured the time to be right, but it was wrong. That's because you think that god wrote the bible, but men who only knew so much about the world thousands of years ago wrote it. Even today there is great difficulty building nearly mile-high buildings, yet ancient man and "god" thought a tower of babel was going to reach to "heaven" which we see must be out in space a few million light years, because those dudes weren't coming anywhere near it. We've been up there and there is no heaven in the clouds.

Fundies can not agree with science because they don't want to. All other Christians can, because they want to learn. Strange, that, eh?
In that case, explain to me why the archaeologists have found Jericoh, and Mari, the oldest towns in history, and have dated it to 8000 BC, why the tools for the first men date back to 20,000 years at least, and, moreover, the timeline for dog domestication is, from the DNA samples we gathered, 12,000 BC. Now, pick a book of history and less homeschooling.
We didn't have writing because we couldn't be bothered to carry copies of stone tablets around with us before the Agricultural Revolution. We had to move with the food and water, not until we could settle down and plant our own food supply could we build cities, and thus, create a writing system that actually could be passed down the generations.
There.
"Christians who believe in evolution or a "symbolic" interpretation of what became the Bible are NOT true Christians."
So when Jesus said in Luke that the dead would bury their dead, he was referring to zombie undertakers? Cool!
Explain how the first religious rites performed by humans go back at least 120,000 years. Also, check your own religions history: all the early xtians believed in a symbolic interpretation of most of the Old Testament, a more literal interpretive view didn't take place until John Calvin in the 1700's, even Martin Luther didn't believe in a literal interpretation of Genesis 1-2.
Our own history only goes back a few thousand years.
This is because organized writing (as far as we know) only goes back a few thousand years.
On the other hand, some of our myths, legends and religions have roots that go back much farther than that. So "civilization" likely goes back farther, even if "recorded history" does not. Anything before the development of writing is "prehistoric," for obvious reasons.
So, no. The world is far, far older than six thousand years and change, and civilization is too.
Okay, human civ is at least 6,000 years old. At least. And you idiots think that in the midst of this you had people living for hundreds of years, and the only document making note of this is the Bible?
I cannot believe the stupidity I'm seeing here. I simply cannot.
In other words, only people who believe the exact same theology as you (a theology that was completely invented in about 1830) are real Christians.
Meanwhile, the vast majority of the world's Christians are perfectly happy to accept that evolution was the mechanism used by God.
Confused?
