You might look up the term "monotheist" sometime. I don't think anyone other than an atheist has faith in more than one "God".

It gets better:
The only people I meet that ever refer to "gods" (plural) are atheists. I've never met a monotheist that believes in multiple gods.
I weep at the mere possibility that a 47 year-old man could say this with a straight face.
Up to the Third Century AD, THE WHOLE WORLD. And now don´t be so optimistic, half the world population does. Any alternative bizarro universe, Yahwe?

I don't recall which one, perhaps the first, but don't the Ten Commandments include the statement "You shall have no other gods before me". Mike's own bible god acknowledges that there are others. Someone should tell Mike to read his own bible more closely.
I have many gods, and (shock horror) goddesses as well, and I'm a *polytheist* not an atheist, idiot.
By that reasoning, Christians are polytheists, too. They, too, speak of not believing in the other gods of the world.
An atheist has faith in no "god" or "gods". A polytheist is the word you're looking for. An atheist who refers to "gods" is merely being respectful towards polytheists by acknowledging the possiblity that it is possible worship more than one god, as well as clarifying that not only do we not believe in a god, we believe in none of the many gods humanity chooses to worship--plural.
has anyone mentioned the trinity yet?
Jahweh + Devil = 2 gods
+ Christ + Holy Ghost = 4
+ angels + saints = polytheism, demigods, blasphemy, etc.
Atheists believe in zero gods. In case you weren't aware, zero is not 'more than one.'
All polytheistic religions have faith in multiple gods. Shinto, Wicca, Hinduism, most Neo-Pagan religions, shamanism, voodoo, etc.
You fail at knowing anything about other religions.
Let's make it easy for you Michael, if you believe in
Zero Gods, you are an atheist
One God, you are a monotheist
More than one god, you are a polytheist
One God in three persons, you are irrational.

I "refer" to multiple gods every time I discuss Greek and Roman Mythology. That doesn't mean I believe that lightning bolts are caused by Zeus, or that Aphrodite visits my bedroom whenever I have a nocturnal emission.
Are you saying that monotheists never even DISCUSS Classical Mythology?
First of all, you might want to look up the word atheist. Also, aren't the Hindus polytheists? And there's what, a billion of them or something?
Atheists have faith in less than one god, stupid, get with the program!
The Vikings had faith in many gods. The Greeks, Romans and Egyptians too. Hindus have faith in many, many, many gods.
Who worhips Vishnu, Shiva and that mob ?
Christians have the nice One God who is at the same time, Father, his own son, and a holy ghost. But irs not three Gods , just One.
hmmm
Confused?
