I think it is incredibly sad that it has come to this in a nation that was originally founded upon Christian principles. We allow a satanic symbol in a national cemetary that honors our war heroes. That is so incredibly sad and disgusting it breaks my heart.
People put this new American ideal of tolerance (even when it comes to satanic religions) above God's law and God's commands. Let me tell you, it is far more important from an eternal perspective to be a good Christian than a good American. At one time I believe these two things were synonymous but now I believe they are at odds.
What saddens me the most, beyond measure, is that there is such widespread acceptance on a Christian message board of this idea of allowing wiccans to place their symbol in a national cemetary. This is surely a sign we are getting close to the end. The cross is the only symbol that should be allowed in a U.S. national cemetary, anyone who wants something else (especially something satanic) should be buried elsewhere.

May I suggest a compromise?
Add the option of being buried in a fundie cemetery where the choices of tombstone markers are the Nazi swastika, a hand giving the finger, the Christian cross, and a God Hates Fags sign.
The fundies will have their graveyard, we sane people will have ours. Problem solved.
I guess that means no more no smoking signs. Seriously though, its not enough to drop the xenophobia even after the person dies? Please, go evangalize to the cemetary. My only hope is that opinions like this aren't ever given any power.
So, two incongruencies. The first one with the first ammendment, liberty of religion. Second, with common sense. Jewish and muslim and buddist soldiers have put, up to now, their symbols in their cementeries, why suddenly they have to do that in favour of Christianity?, if you want to be a "good Christian", start being consequent, and go to Iran. Moreover, learn to spell well, or they will think that you´re ignorant and not a reliable source(for your research in the "christian nation")
So apparently "good Christians" think Wiccan soldiers good enough to die for their country but not good enough to practice their religion, or express it, or even be buried with other Christians.
Support the troops indeed.

You mean like the First Amendment? Wait. Shit. Or our Capitalist economy that relies on coveting of goods. Dammit!
So the same people who are good enough to fight your wars, even ones that you believe are the will of god, aren't good enough to be buried along side of those you feel are better then them because they don't believe the same spooks that you do? And this is all based on your wrong idea of America being a Christian nation?
Well fuck you. You don't determine the value of someone's life, especially if they were willing to go to the ends to fight for your country. If you think being a christian is more important then being an American, then move to Guyana and drink deep from the Kool-Aid.
Upon which "Christian" principles?, kill all the Indians you can?, enslave people?, start wars?, I have to check the NT again. And by the way, be consequent too and ask them, not just not to join the army, but not to do any type of job too. If they´re not good enough for having a free expression of their faith, at least don´t be a parasite.
A few points:
1) The pentacle is not a Satanic symbol. At one time (and still, in the Catholic faith) it was used widely by Christians.
2) Wiccans do not believe in, and therefore do not worship, Satan.
3) In fact, nobody (with the possible exception of a few deranged Christians) worships Satan, to my knowledge.
4) The US was not founded on Christianity; in fact, the founders were primarily Deist.
5) You are further proven wrong by the First Amendment and the Treaty of Tripoli.
6) Since it is a national cemetary, and not a private one, you have no say in who gets to be buried there. If you want to ban all non-Christians from Arlington, write your Congressman to ban them from the military. Your armed forces will be cut in half, and you'll be whining because more people don't serve.
Let me tell you, it is far more important from an eternal perspective to be a good Christian than a good American.
Using the fundie treatment of Keith Ellison (and erroneously Barack Obama), Christians shouldn't hold public office, because you can't be expected to put America first. In fact, you shouldn't even live here.

You're perfectly all right with letting them (forcing them?) to fight and die "for our country," but when they are dead you won't even do them the courtesy of letting them be buried in a national cemetery.
There are humans dead here, and part of the tragedy is that you would like to make it so that no one cares.
People put this new American ideal of tolerance (even when it comes to satanic religions) above God's law and God's commands.
"New American ideal of tolerance?" What Constitution is this guy reading? And who in America decides what "God's law and God's commands" are? There are some 400 different sects of Christianity alone, each one convinced it has interpreted the Bible correctly and the others are full of crap. There are hundreds of religions that don't recognise the Bible at all. Short of God coming down and appearing on the Six O'Clock News, we don't know what "God's law and God's commands" are.
I served in two wars so far, and have been in the military for some time. Its nice to see one of these assholes showing his true colors.
While most people from a variety of political persuations have "supported the troops," it seems that this asshat only wants to support the troops - to include the ones who died in support of the system that gives him the right to practice his religon - he only supports the troops that share his particular supernatural beliefs.
Which means, rapture ready (assuming this comment is supported by the rest of the dolts there) doesn't support the troops at all.
Fuck off.
For one thing, isn't EVERYTHING a sign of the End Times for these yahoos? "Hey, the guy delivering the paper was 6 minutes late today, this is surely a sign of the end times" Secondly: FUCK YOU, with a rusty razor. Seriously, 'We support our troops (The Christian ones, the heathens can be burried in shallow unmarked graves for what we care)'
I'm, a little curious about what the symbol here is - a "pentacle" was mentioned above - what's that, a five pointed star? Is it upside down, like the Repubs did with their logo the day they installed Bush in the Oval Office?
That brings up another question for me - what if people who use the 6 pointed star turn theirs upside down -- who's gonna know?
Wow, I can't think of a bolder example of arrogance.
Like the poster above, I too am a veteran of two wars and served in combat during both of them. I earned the right to military funeral services. Who is to say I shouldn't be entitled to them based on my religious preference?
I know that this might be borderline claiming persecution, however, keep in mind that several years ago a congressman introduced a bill that would not allow recognition of "fringe religions" in the military. Naturally, the religion in which a jewish zombie, who is really his own father, was tortured to death to appease his own wrath - wrath at the humans acting the way he supposedly designed them, that religion wasn't among the "fringe" religions.
America was not founded on Christian principles. yes, the ideals that it was founded on are very similar to the ideals in Christianity, but that was the thinking of the day. also, just because it was founded by some guys who happened to be Christian, doesn't mean that the country is then automatically purely Christian
Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
Signed and sealed at Tripoli of Barbary the 3d day of Junad in the year of the Hegira 1211 corresponding with the 4th day of November, 1796.
You were saying?
Considering what other religions teach, calling them satanic does not make Satan look bad as much you look uneducated and intolerant, even stupid. And they died for your freedom. That you whine about their rights exposes you.
Glad to see a couple of those soldiers come in on this one to dress that fucker down and give him a clue on what respecting a fallen soldier really means.
There are hundreds of thousands of Americans and other countrymen buried under a cross with words from a church representitive that the deseased had no affiliation or adherance to. It's ridiculous hypocritical grandstanding that the church prays for the soul of a three day dead person even if they were a follower.
"The cross is the only symbol that should be allowed in a U.S. national cemetary, anyone who wants something else (especially something satanic) should be buried elsewhere."
Sorry, but "separate but equal" was ruled as bullshit a long time ago. Nice to see you refuse to let that go, though.

And of course, Ruptured Retards support Israel, do they not? And what, pray o Raptards, appears on the flag of Israel...?!
Seems, by you asking that question, you've argumentally opened up a catering-sized can of fundie-cornering worms. Have a shiny new internet, from this fellow Argument Annihilator!
"love thy neighbour"
"Do unto others as you wish to be done unto"
These are just some of the (massively paraphrased) Christian quotes that promote tolerance. By not tolerating everyone else, you're being a bad Christian. Fuck off.
Confused?
