It has been estimated that the [Golden] plates weighed 234 pounds or thereabouts. Yet the eight witnesses supposedly hefted them. How many ordinary people can lift that much weight? Very few. Reliable eyewitnesses say that Joseph Smith carried the plates around under one arm. Yeah Right!!!
