Quote# 25879

The theory of gravity has never been invoked to justify mass murder, genocide or eugenics. Darwin's theory of evolution has. From Marx to Hitler, the men responsible for the greatest mass murders of the 20th century were avid Darwinists.

Don't quote me on this but, was Marx even alive when Origin of the species came out?

Once again, Hitler was a Christian. Why do fundies refuse to acknowledge this?

Funny, I thought Marx was a...wait for it...Marxist, and wasn't Hitler famous for a little something called Nazism? Dipstick. I want to buy a massive hammer to hit people like this with. I shall name it Godwin. :oD

And here I thought that Karl Marx's political theories could be considered contrary to natural selection, what with equal distribution of wealth and all.

I love making damning statements without any proof.

\"From Ed Gein to Albert Fish, the men responsible for the most consumption of human flesh in the 20th century were avid Christians.\"

And Marx killed who, again? Not to mention ... Communist Manifesto, 1848 - On The Origin of Species, 1857.

Hitler never once memtioned Darwin.

\"From Marx to Hitler, the men responsible for the greatest mass murders of the 20th century were avid Darwinists. \"

But Hitler was an ardent christianist. Christianity was used to justify the greatest mass murderer of the 20th century.

So? I couldn't care less if someone found a video of Hitler saying he was motivated by Darwinism. That also applies to Attila the Hun, Stalin, Mao, Saddam Husein, Napoleon, heck any mass murderer.

Evolution is a scientific theory, what people may or may not choose to do with that information is completely irrelevant to the validity of the theory. No one bitches about Newton despite all the people who have died at the hands of gravity, so why bother Darwin?

Hitler might have used a perverted form of Social Darwinism, but he was also a Christian.

And I don't think that Marx was a mass murderer...

Hitler was a Christian, Marx was a economic theorist who never killed anyone. Provide a cite to prove either was a \"Darwinist\"(?) Darwin never advocated mass murder, genocide, or eugenics in anything I've read. And you appear to be a liar or an ignorant fraud. Have a nice day!

Marx never invoked Darwin, because, at the time he wrote his manifesto, Darwin hand't published yet the Origin of species. And Hitler never mentioned Darwin. Has gravity been used for mass murder?, neither has evolution. And by the way, following your logic, we could say that the agricultural revolution was the origin of slavery.

Doctor Whom

Marx never engaged in mass murderer. In case you're referring to Stalin, he was an avid Lysenkoist. Hitler, insofar as his writings mean anything, was an avid creationist. Have a nice day.

Well you may have a case with Marx. They must have called him \"Mad Dog\" Marx for a reason. Geez, what a maroon.

According to the record, Hitler never alluded to evolution or Darwin in his entire life. Not that you'd be interested in facts.

Contrary to Social \"Darwinism,\" sure...but not natural selection or Darwinian evolution.

It never ceases to amaze me. Fundies seem to have no idea what they're arguing against or how to do it. I don't care if evolution was used to justify every goddamn awful thing that ever happened anywhere in the world. It doesn't make it any less true. Not one bit. No. Not an iota. Not the teensiest little speck.

The validity of a scientific principle has nothing whatsoever to do with how evil the people who invoke it are.
