Yeah, there's a few of THOSE types even among the Buddhists, but for the most part Buddhism is a pretty mellow religion, focusing more on enlightenment than anything else. There's a lot for a rationalist to dislike in most Buddhist practices, but also quite a bit that is not bad at all.

Uhmm... should I point out the fact that Bhuddists don't believe in an omnipresent, omnipotent being?

Also: who do Bhuddists kill? They've killed themselves ritually in protest but they don't go on rampages or murder sprees. Actually Bhuddism is the most peaceful religion around.

1) It's spelled "Buddhists".
2) Buddhists do not have a God. Buddhists are largely agnostic. Some are deist, in a sense. A few see Buddha as an enlightened being. A very few like to think there is an unknowable Divine Intelligence. None believe in a God the way you do.
3) Part of being a Buddhist is a concept called ahimsa, or the Way of Peace - ie, nonviolence. Some take ahimsa to the point of pacifism.
4) Buddhists remain the only religious adherents in the world who have not started wars for their religion. Some who called themselves Buddhists have killed, some for their culture, but none would find a reason to do so for their religion.
4) I'd take a fundamentalist Buddhist (if there were such a thing) over a Fundamentalist Christian any day.
