Quote# 27110

For some reason, I am coming across a heap of women that actually think that they ought to be allowed to vote in church business meetings. They also think they ought to be able to vote against their husbands. This horrifies me. Not only does my church not allow women to vote (the man is the head of the family, his vote is his family's vote) but if it did allow women to vote, I would NEVER vote against my husband as I believe that is usurping his authority. What do you all think?

Why, we don't think anything at all, Katy dear!! Don't you know thinking is for men? Your husbands thoughts are YOUR thoughts, Katy! Let him do all the big thinking and talking from now on, and all you fill your head with is what to put on the next sandwich he hollers for, and what brand of bleach will get those stains out of his briefs best.

Oh, I don't know, Katy... I have to consult with my father before I am allowed to say what I think, right? Just to make sure my opinion doesn't differ from his, because he is the total representative of our utterly monolithic, robotic family.

On second thought, are we women allowed to think at all? What's the point in thinking if we can't do anything about it? Why don't you check with your husband.

I think your a sad, pathetic little child who doesn't want to take responsibility for your own life because you still want a parent figure to baby you.

50 years ago, this would've read:

"For some reason, I am coming across a heap of Negroes that actually think that they ought to be allowed to vote. They also think they ought to be able to vote against their white masters. This horrifies me. Not only does my state not allow coloreds to vote (the white man is the ruler of the country, his vote is his nation's vote) but if it did allow Negroes to vote, I would NEVER vote against my white superiors as I believe that is usurping their God-given authority. What do you all think?"

I think you should remember your opposition to female voting when national elections occur, and encourage as many fundamentalist women as possible to follow your thoughts on this.

I think you should start exerting that free will you claim your skygod gave you, sheeple.

Also, like Fantastic-Templar, I too am an almighty man. Almanly, if you will. So do what I say and stop taking orders like a damn doormat. Er, wait, that paradox'll make you pull your undertrained brain... um. Hm.

Crap. Ah well.

Over stimulation? Maybe you are a lesbian? Never mind, it will do you good to get out of the house.

Why worry about hell Katy-did? Sounds to me like you(and your daughters) are living there already. I don't think that Satan can brainwash you into utterly feeling worthless and inferior any more than your church already has. I don't think God appreciates helpless slaves and brainless sheep led to him by intimidation, of course I'm not a fundie.

I'll take the time to push my own political point across: in 20 years fundies will be saying this about children voters.
That's right UNIVERSAL sufferage, where you are allowed to vote no matter how old you are. It would please all those right-wingers who want family values- two (or more) votes for family people would shut them up pretty fast, and it would finally be fair to everyone.

Let's see what Scripture says. Quote for us all of the Bible verses about voting in church business meetings, and we'll be like the searching Bereans and see what they have to say about the matter.

Katy-Anne, I think you need to burn your bra, kick your husband in the nuts and get a life of your own.

I think you're a simpering, weak-minded pushover who would faint in terror at the idea of having a life outside the indentured servitude that you so foolishly and wrongly call "marriage".

Even the women in the Bible acted on their own initiative, broke rules and went against their husbands--and were rewarded for it.

Don't be such a wuss, you're making the rest of us look bad.

I have a feeling Katy-Anne would be horrified at the Gospels if she realized how many women are described in the four Gospels as running home churches.
