Use that common sense. If God says Adam will die from eating from the Tree, obviously not eating from it means He won't die. God gave you a brain for a reason.

If you eat cyanide, you will die.
If you don't eat cyanide...well, you'll die eventually.
According to most interpretations of your little fable, the brains that god gave adam & eve were overly simplistic and crude before they ate the fruit. If the tree gave knowledge of good and evil, they couldn't have had such knowledge before they ate. Without such knowledge, they were unequipped to deal with such concepts as temptation; they could not have had any notion that obeying god was good and obeying the snake was bad, because they didn't even know what "good" and "bad" were. They cannot, therefore, be blamed (or praised) for any action they took up to and including the consumption of said fruit.
The story is obviously a bullshit myth, but it cannot even be interpreted in the way you do, that adam and eve somehow deserved their fate.
Eat healthy, exercise regularly, do all things in moderation and die anyway. Grandpa ate whatever he damn well pleased, smoked cigars for 90 years and drank 3 glasses of whiskey every day. He lived to 102, If he hadn't done all those unhealthy things we probably would have had to shoot him.
Genesis 2:17 (King James Version)
"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
So they both ate and they did NOT die "in that day." Fundies have been playing logical gymnastics for years with this one, since "day" doesn't really mean "day," does it?
In fact, the Bible says that Adam lived 930 years (since it never mentions Eve's death, maybe she's still alive?). That's one long day!
And this all makes sense, how???
We don't die anyway though do we ?? Don't we just go to a place much worse or (if we've followed the rules) much better than this place ??? So because of Adam's sin, God sentenced all of mankind to ... relocation, or something.
Adam will die from eating from the Tree
Yeah, 930 somewhat years later.
Why can't I live for 930 years?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
