20 billion year old universe DOES contradict scripture. You can do the ol' "it's not literal; it's allegory/metaphor" apologetic, but then you might as well do the same for ape/human common ancestry thing and not be retarded about it.
P.S. Science does not say we came from chimpanzees, nor does it says varves are evidence of tens of thousands of years of history. Rather, humans and chimps have common and ancestry, and varves are evidence of millions of years of geological history.

1 The universe is about 13.8 billion years old not 20 billion.
You accept the universe being billions of years old but you don't accept varves as evidence for tens of thousands of years of history? You win a Non Contradiction award for that one.

We should make a list of all the places where the Bible contradicts itself, and then whenever some fundie goes on about how things that contradict the Bible are wrong, or how the Bible is completely internally consistent, we can just randomly select a few from the list.
