If Darwin was correct in his assesment of the development of life, why do humans need clothes?

Because clothing is like religion. It's something society forces on people from birth, to the point that they never really question why they have it, and become offended at people who display too little of it.
Human clothing is readily changeable, much better than having to rely on a coat of fur that may be too much or too little covering for comfort. It makes it much easier for us to regulate our body temperatures quickly in response to changing climatic conditions, increasing or decreasing insulation as needed. Our adaptation of intelligence makes clothing possible, and our adaptation of light body hair makes clothing necessary but, in most respects, highly superior to most types of fur.

haha, somebody blows another hole in evolution big enough to drive a truck through, and you don't have any answer for that one, do you? haha.
First we lost our hair, then we got smart, then we got cold, then we made clothes.
See Why Humans and Their Fur Parted Ways .
Hmm, good point.

WHEEE! I'M FREE!
Alot of reasons, weather, elements, insects, religion, society, etc...
It started because it was cold outside, then religion and society came in and forced it on everyone.
I hate to generlize, but christians ask some of the dumbest questions.
Ummmm, because we'd still be stuck in the middle of Africa where we evolved and unable to colonize more extreme areas of the globe if we hadn't worked out to make stone tools from flint and that animal skins are good insulation and protection.
We need clothing because evolution takes many thousands of generations to have a noticeable effect, and our migration in the last 100,000 years has outpaced it. Next dumb question...
It's cold or you want some protection.
Ya know what. We can't eat hide or hair (well, we can but we'll get sick fast) and we were just smart enough to utilize this leftover product over 40,000 years ago (to a degree)
In some areas they don't need cloths so you Christians get wound up again!
Also. Damn that's just stupid. You could be naked tropically (warm enough with shade available) but a cheap pair of running shoes would always be welcome.
It is either
a)Because chasing a wounded Antelope through a thornbush can seriously put a cramp on your day.
OR
b)To give you somewhere to put your money and keys because keeping them up your ass can get uncomfortable.
One of the more interesting creationist questions.
The answer of course is that humans evolved in the warm tropics of Africa with a light covering of body hair.
Sexual selection lost most of the non-essential hair 200,000+ years ago (hairy faces aren't considered attractive in either gender) and when early humans moved out to colder climates, they had to compensate.
Cutting up animals for their skins was quicker than waiting a few more million years for body hair to evolve back in.
Have you ever tried running around naked at night?
Try it. I dare you. Then tell me you felt nice and warm. Especially during the winter.
Actually, clothes are more convenient then hair, because we can remove them when we get hot, and we can stack more layers on when it gets really cold.
Obviously, I created you without ways to keep warm or protect your sensitive skin from all the thorn bushes in the Garden, so you had to come up with it yourself. Except that in order to get you to wear clothes I had to give you a sense of modesty, but modesty came about as a response from wearing clothes. So kind of a chicken and egg situation.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
