One of the arguements they [atheists] make is how christians claim the earth is only 6000 years old. What they don't know, (and many christians don't know) is that there was a first earth age. The age we live in now is the second earth age which started with adam and eve. The third earth age will be the eturnity when Christ returns.
But during the first earth age, Satan rebelled against God, so God was furious and ended the earth, and started the second earth age. This second age started with adam and eve.
The earth is billions of years old. But of coarse atheists have never heards of the 3 earth ages.
Just read Genesis chapter 1, and see how God was recreating everything, not creating for the first time.
It's amazing how these Atheists have no theological training, but they come in here and act like a bunch of bible scolars

WTF
In the beginning God created heaven and earth.... etc
Rather specific that - the 1st to the 6th day, nothing there for a fundie to wriggle out of. So WTF!
...But that doesn't matter...Even if God was recreating everything, it was only during the "second age" that life existed on Earth...So our arguement is still valid...
And he's got bad spelling to boot...
As far as his last comment goes, it is also amazing how fundies can know nothing and want to know nothing about evolution, and yet try to argue it like experts.
I first heard this oddity from one of Herbert Armstrong's books (q.v. Worldwide Church of God). It's all distilled from the fact that Genesis 1:2 refers to the world as "empty and waste". They believe that an omnipotent god would necessarily have made it fecund and beautiful from the first moment.
One problem, though. Genesis 1:1 is NOT properly translated as "In the beginning, God created Heaven and Earth.". Instead, it should be (according to the Schocken Bible, which tries to preserve the original Hebrew idiom) "During the Beginning, while God was creating Heaven and Earth,". 1:2 is actually a CONTINUATION of that verse. It isn't its own sentence. In other words, it's not strict creatio ex nihilo, but forming order from primal chaos. Ch. 1 is in its entirety describing God taking a wild wastecosmos and giving it proper shape.

It's amazing how you've clearly shown that you haven't even read the bible and how you just pulled that out of your ass.

You don't? Well that's a huge leap forward.
"The age we live in now is the second earth age which started with adam and eve."
Aha. Humanity is still 6000 years old? Too bad.

Only because it's easy as Fundie Christians cherry pick everything, even their own Bible. An atheist just seems, for some reason, to believe everything should be taken in context. Add to that most Christians would disagree with your conclusions here
Nah, we're in the Fifth Age. The Sixth Age starts when the Awakening comes and the first Great Dragon is sighted in Japan. Sheesh, you'd think this guy hadn't even heard of Shadowrun. I bet he Goblinises as a troll.
Oh and by the way, he is right about one thing; atheists do suck. We love to suck. We're really good at it as well... Slurp!
I had a conversion with a Jew once on Paltalk who gave a similar view. He said that the Hebrew in Gensis 1 actually indicates that when "god created the heavens and earth" the Hebrew acutally refers to some sort of re-creation. It's still all absurd, because then you have to wonder why in the "1st earth age" god created the angels, plants and animals, and everything else but humans. Then you have to explain all the remains of humans that go back further than 6000 years.
The breaking of the world ended the second age when the Dragon sealed the Dark One. We are in the third age. Near the end of the Third age Now the seals of the Dark One are breaking, his Forsaken have returned and the Dragon Reborn is about to fight the final battle with the dark one, Tarmon Gai'don is upon us.

It's a pity that you fundies still do not know how to use a dictionary. As for theology, it's a documented fact that more Atheists have read the Bible in its entirety than actual Christians. It's the most effective way of producing Atheists. Have you never wondered why it is Atheists that encourage Theists to read their Holy tracts in full?
No, what is amazing is the copious, never ending stream of absolute bullshit that you people invent to try and explain away that, in fact, everything you believe in is total bollocks.
And your evidence for this is... ?
Ah, yes, of coarse (sic) you just pulled it out of your ass.
Confused?
