Quote# 2921

I used to be impressed by all the 'scientific' dating methods until I finally looked into the subject in detail. It amazed me how people could delude themselves so badly. Thus, I finally concluded that there is no real reason to doubt the veracity of the Genesis narrative regarding a short age for the Earth and probably the universe as well.

"It amazed me how people could delude themselves so badly."

Yet you continue to do so.

The failure in this one is greater than earlier commenters have realized. The 6000-year age of the earth isn't even in the Bible, that's just based on an interpretation of some biblical verses regarding Jesus' lineage from Kind David. This guy fails at science and religion.

You've looked at nothing in detail, you've looked at the science not at all, you've simply dismissed it based on preconcieved notions from your childhood.

Then you've jumped onto a site or two to Lie for Jesus.

If you looked into things in detail then you'd have to question the Earth-age theory as it's based on totally arbritrary figures by a preist over 150 years ago.

And yet, the same narrative in Genesis features a talking snake?:

Bollocks, there goes another irony meter. They don't grow on bloody trees, you know! (*grump*)

I think you were told by your teacher to look into the subject in detail. It was too complicated for you to understand, so you decided that goddidit was a sufficient answer, and got an F on your exam paper.

Just a fun fact: even if the error margin from the least reliable source of radiometirc dating was 99% a young Earth still wouldn't be in the margin of error of the age of the universe, the solar system or even Earth.

You haven't looked at all, and you are the deluded one. It is easily demonstrated that the Genesis narrative is utter crap, and those who support the idea of a Young Earth are dumber than a gatepost.

What makes you even more stupid is that the age of the planet is not even alluded to in the bible. "In the beginning" could as easily be last Tuesday as billions of years ago.
