actually, the default devolpmental pathway is female but there is a specific gene on the Y chromosome that switches the embryonic devolpmental pathway to male. It's possible to be an XY female if that particular gene is defective for some reason.

uhm...technically, even if marry was impregnated by her own sperm....baby jesus wouldn't have been born...it would have been a replica, or clone, of herself. The egg and sperm have had the same DNA signatures, thus creating a whole new Marry. In order to create a whole different life form there would have had to of been a whole different set of genetics...DNA strands, to create a baby jesus.
