If you have to think in literal terms vs spiritual you will miss the boat completly; the Bible is written correctly, less minor translation mistakes, that useually are corrected or debated by man; I personaly, know of none that have been proven to be 100% out there and false, even the 4 legged flying insect is possible (many species of animal life whent extinct leaving the door open), regardless of the deffenition of insect, which came much later than when the Bible was actually written.

Now, would you mind explaining how snakes speak or people live 900 years?, moreover, would you be more "precise", since you're adapting the meaning of words so much?

Dude, the living plants and animals mentioned in the Bible are all contemporary organisms.
We have thousands of ancient insects preserved in amber many millions of years old.
Your door has closed.
I think what Scoutsout is saying is that the Bible should not be taken literally. That's fine by m. He even concedes that at the time it was written science hardly existed and has since provided definitions for things that the Bible could only hint at.
If this is so, then there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

Okies, how about: Pi = 3? or the Earth is flat?

I don't think so. He is saying that the Bible has to be taken literally.
Someone told him that the Bible mentions "four-legged insects", and he says that it is entirely possible that they existed.
Hmmm.
God = an entity for whose existence there is no evidence.
Four-legged insect = an entity for whose existence there is no evidence.
Therefore, god is a four-legged insect.
Hey, don't argue with me. Just take it on "faith."
Two points here:
(1) Where is the fossil evidence? To the best of my knowledge, not one fossil insect has ever been found that possessed four, and only four, legs. Non-insect arthropods have been found with more than six legs, but never four.
(2) If the Flood was only a few thousand years ago, then considering that insects are the single most incredibly numerous group of land animals that have ever existed, there should be a few still around. So where are the majestic hordes of galloping quadrupedal insects?
Hang on... how can the Bible talk about something that's lacking any definition? Just giving the description in the Bible is providing a definition. Not that there wasn't a definition of sorts prior to the Bible being written... About 6k years ago, a certain group of people around the Nile had a working definition of insect... an animal with 6 or more legs.
Since your argument is wrong, I assume you'll accept there are errors in the Bible? Nope... didn't think so.
Confused?
