And since I love god and don't want him to throw me into a lake of anguish, I believe!

Hmmmmm, so when it was called Hades and part of Greek and Roman mythology it was untrue, but when it was rolled into the bible, suddenly it became credible!
Can I sell you my turds as a foodsource if I wrap them in bible pages and call them God's lunch logs?

Yeah, it doesn't make sense, and makes God to be a psychopath, but well, if its in the Bible, I have to believe in it...
Typical fundie argument.

This guy is living in Plato's cave -- only for him, that cave is the Bible. He really considers it the sum total of reality and cannot conceive of anything beyond it.

Wow. It would be so easy tricking you into believing all manner of weird and far-out things. All I need to say is that \"it's in the bible\", and you'll probably believe me without even looking it up.

Thank you for confirming that belief in the bible requires the suspension of common sense.
There may be a glimmer of hope for you yet.

"Absolutely not. The only reason I believe in hell is cause it's in the Bible and since I believe the Bible to be Gods word then I believe there's a hell."
And the notion of an 'afterlife' makes any sense... how?
When there's not one shred of evidence to prove the existence of a 'Hell', never mind a 'Heaven' - or even that a so-called 'soul' exists, for that matter?
And yet, we're supposed to accept this whole thing on spec, purely on what you fundies call 'faith', amirite?
PT Barnum hit the nail right on the head when he once said:
'There's a sucker born every minute.
Certainly relevant to today, with how supposedly sentient, intelligent adult human beings in the 21st Century, still go along with the fairytale known as 'Religious Belief', brainwashed into thinking it - and it's empty promises of an 'afterlife' - has any credibility whatsoever. And you & your ilk, russell182, have been suckered big time.
Sooooo... if you're absolutely sure that you're going to this so-called 'Heaven' after you die, then I've got this nice bridge for sale, perfect condition, just over 9000 miles on the clock...!
"If it wasn't in the Bible then I would thinks it's a fantasy and untrue."
So, if I were to enter the cupboard where I keep my clothes, I'd emerge out the other side into another world, where I'd meet a talking lion? Because the book "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" by CS Lewis - a devout Christian himself - says so, hmmmmmmm?!
Think about that question extremely carefully before answering, russ. Your own beliefs' continued existence rest on your answer.
PROTIP: 'Biblios'* is Greek for 'Book'. Thus The Bible, "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" as well as "On the Origin of Species", "A Brief History of Time" and "The God Delusion" are books, ergo Bibles too. QED.
Believe one Bible, gotta believe 'em all!

Catch-22 can be such an evil bitch when she wants to be eh, russiepoos?! >:D
*- This could be the very thing that destroys the 'Circular Reasoning' fundies use to justify their insane (and inane) 'beliefs' & 'faith': If the Bible is true, because the Bible says so, then all books which provide a contradictory viewpoint - especially Atheistic (and thus religion-destroying) in nature - because they are backed up by evidence & facts which prove the Bible is wrong, and therefore everything it says - including the notion that a 'God' exists - is lies. Because these Atheistic books are Bibles too (Book = Biblios = Bible). Ergo, they are true too. QED.
The one thing your so-called 'God' can't do, fundies, is simultaneously exist, and not exist. Because the Bible - a book - and "The God Delusion" - again, a book (and therefore by definition, a Bible) say so.
Now which Bible are you going to believe, eh? Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion" is as much a Bible as your KJV (or whatever) Bible is, after all. The word 'Bible' originated from the Greek - Biblios = 'Book'. Can't believe one is fact and reject the other, eh? Like I say...
Catch-22 can be such an evil bitch when she wants to be eh?!
