If we were really evolving into a higher and more inteligent creature, then why are so many kids failing, dropping out of, getting in trouble in, and getting kicked out of school? Because they are smarter and better than the rest? No, it is actually because we aren't evolving at all!

Maybe because it's only in the last few decades that we started expecting all kids to finish high school? In the nineteenth century it was rare for a kid to finish high school, and even then the highest math they were expected to know was long division. Now the kids who would have dropped out to work on the farm 150 years ago are supposed to learn trigonometry. Kids aren't getting dumber, we're just expecting more from them.
Oh my GOD. I can't believe those words came out of your mouth/keyboard. I just lost all respect for you. I actually did before- it was at "neutral." Now, it's "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY FACE. PLEASE."
What happened to, eh, pre-revolutionary war times? I'm sure that the drop-out rates then was much lower than today.
No, it is actually because evolution has no goal of producing a "higher, more intelligent creature," only one better-suited to its environment.

No, it's usually not because they're stupid, it's because they don't give a shit. I'm in school. I know these things.
kids failing
They may problems at home thats causing their grades to slip; or they may just not care enough to pay attentions (wich can usally be because of the first).
dropping out of
Bullied, expetations too high, etc...
getting in trouble
They want to fit in, bad home life, etc...
getting kicked out of school?
Mental issues, anger problems. etc...
Included in the multiple reasons, IMHO, is the general dumbing down - aided immensely by religion, home schooling, television, corporate owned media and the drug culture. May I add a republican administration - particularly this one, leaving little hope for future generations.
I expect homeschooling only lasts until grade 4 to 6, most parents (especially fundie parents) would meet the reqirement above that.
I know the Bible Belt has higher drop outs and illiteracy. Any statistics on how many home schooled kids can't cut the mustard in real school (or society)?
Because... It's evolution.
Of course, natural selection obviously doesn't just favor intelligence.
Yeah, all the football players get laid. wtf, man.
Natural selection only works if the trait that's developing is selected for, which means that those who exhibit it are more likely to reproduce. Since idiots like you are the ones reproducing the most, it wouldn't be surprising if the human race - should it survive - actually becomes less intelligent.
it's only recently that people were expected to finish school, as little as 50 years ago almost nobody finished school.
And the reason so many people drop out is because the school system in poor areas sucks ass. It's to do with economic reasons, not intelligence.
Please stop making homeschoolers look bad, and at least learn how evolution actually works before you claim to have refuted it.
Also, for the record, I dropped out of (pre)school, because I couldn't thrive there as a gifted child (though I certainly wouldn't call myself better than the other kids). Just sayin'.
Evolution has no goal, it's not moving higher, only forward.
We humans are a bad example of evolution, as we tend to keep people alive who should have died in Nature. Bad mutations are carried onwards along with the good ones. People have kids even though they have severely debilitating diseases in their genetic set-up.
Evolution takes longer than just one generation. It might take hundreds of generations.
Confused?
