I wouldn't have a problem with scientists if they just stuck to doing science. Good can actually come from these people if they keep their mouth shut about God. Let them stare at stars and keep their theories to themselves.
Sadly, I don't think a scientist is going to read this post.

I thought it was established that Follower (and Esther for that matter) were Poes?
Read that in a couple of other comment sections, at least....
Sadly, I don't think a scientist is going to read this post.
Interpretation: "I'm hoping a scientist will not read this a point out how utterly stupid I am."
I read your post.
It's shit.
Looks like another fundie taking an argument about her and twisting it into a counterattack.
"I wouldn't have a problem with fundies if they just stuck to worshipping. Good can actually come from these people if they keep their mouth shut about science. Let them sit in churches and keep their theology to themselves."
"Has to be an act, no one can be as stupid as Follower is playing and still be able to use a computer."
anevilmeme, I can't attest as to the actual poe-ness of the statement, but... well, I work at a college tech support desk. It IS possible.
Sorry kid, but one little peon is not going to halt all scientific advancement just because they've proved your myths to be, well, myths.
I did.
They do just do science. What do you think they are, cable repairmen?
Good does come from them, and they rarely bother you about God other than to pray to Nothing that you find your loss of faith soon.
Keeping theories to themselves = things like transistors not being invented, "It doesn't seem like that great an idea"
Sadly, I don't think a scientist is going to read this post. "
Only because none of them is a raving cunt like you.
POE'S LAW: Without a smiley or other indicator that the poster is joking or being sarcastic, it is impossible to make a post that can't be mistaken for something a religious fundamentalist would say, because many people have heard similar things from people who *weren't* joking, either online, in print, or in real life.
I am a scientist! Thanks to fstdt.com, I have read followers comments, and I will keep my theories to myself...or I won't try to publish them on websites that only fundies dig, like Teens4Christ or http://www.icr.org/ . I'll probably just stick to sciency peer-reviewed journals from now on.
Thanks Follower!
There is such a concept of non-overlapping magisteria. The problem is that it essentially amounts to a deist version of the God-of-the-Gaps argument. (Interestingly, Stephen Jay Gould, NOMA's most prominent proponent, was a staunch atheist and by all indications didn't really believe it, just considered it a logically acceptable compromise.)
Funny how these people really believe that scientists are on a mission to discredit God and Christianity. They don't give a fuck about that. They are simply trying to learn more about how the Universe works. If it so happens that their findings contradict your book of bullshit, that's just coincidental.
"I don't think a scientist is going to read this post. "
I just read it.
It's shit.
You are also shit.
Stop using transistors immediately.
"Sadly, I don't think a scientist is going to read this post."
I just read it.
Stop using transistors.
Confused?
