All those killed in the holocaust included Jews, Roma and others not considered "white enough". Again, white guys have never been in disadvantage, so all history is, by default, "white history"

While he needs to lay off the crack (and read a history book), he has actually got a point. White victims of racial prejudice hardly ever get a mention, and there are quite a few of them.
It was interesting that, in the recent anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade in the UK, nobody commented on European slaves sold to the Middle East (or the plight of the 'white' working classes during the Industrial Revolution, which pretty much counted as slavery).
What some people forget is that evil isn't usually fuelled by racism- just human nature. Personally I think it would be better if we stopped screwing around with 'black history months' and other patronising events, and just recognised each other as equal human beings.

I don't see why anybody gives a fuck about black history month. It's not like black people get the month off and everyone else has to work. Besides, at this point it's just another time of year for corporations to exploit for special sales (ex. Black History Month= half off Marvin Gaye CDs.)

The Black History Month is just a double standard. What I have noticed is in America, only whites can be racist. Note how a white person strikes a black person it is considered a race crime, and Jackson and Sharpton jump on the bandwagon, getting all these people riled up; then saying that the white persons charge is too weak. Yet, just a while back, a couple of white kids made a noose around a tree as a prank, and were suspended from school; a group of black male teenagers beats them up very badly, and then Jackson and Sharpton get together and say the black male teenagers are getting too harsh of a sentence.
I hate these double standards.

Vidar, dude, you obviously haven't followed the Jena 6 story too closely. The issue wasn't the lynch ropes. It's the fact the DA charged them with attempted murder in what was just a fight. The guy was fine afterward except for some bruises.
Also, if a black dude spraypainted "cracker" on a white dudes house and got his ass kicked I wouldn't feel too sorry for him either. Not a double standard.

I have no living Jewish or Romani relatives thanks to the holocaust (and earlier when it comes to the Romani), but they were killed because they were not seen as truely white enough or impure in some regard.
Besides, isn't all history "white history" in the end since whites have caused so much trouble with racist ideologies (Holocaust, Indian Removal Act, Slavery, Segregation, Crusades, etc.)

I don't see what's wrong with this statement - It just illustrates the idiocy of political correctness.
(Granted there is a holocaust remembrance day - but why is there a need for black history month? - Just have a 'slavery remembrance day' or something).
Im not too bothered, just seems stupid to me to dedicate a whole month to the history of one particular race.
