Did Hovind miss the fall of the Soviet Union? While Putin is hardly a paragon of democracy, communism fell twenty years ago.
Lysenko, the favorite of Stalin, was head of Soviet agriculture for many decades. He was opposed to genetics. Lysenko totally ignored Darwin and was opposed to Western science. He imposed a bizarre Lamarkian theory onto Soviet agriculture, often by force, for decades with disastrous results. Most of what he did between the 20's and the 60's was fraudulent - covering up the failure of his harebrained theories. During the Cold War, the US often exported grain to the Soviet Union to cover their losses on the theory that a well-fed enemy was less dangerous than one that was starving to death.

The worst non-sequitur in history. Evolution is not a "problem" to Lenin. It was, in the sense you're applying, Marx's communist manifesto, written two decades before The Origin of the Species. You fail.

However bad the Soviet Union may have been, one would do well to remember that it was still an improvement on the previous regime.
If all that's not enough to convince you of your epic, epic failure, here's the clincher: Das Kapital was published two years before Darwin's Origin, and the Communist Manifesto nineteen years earlier than that.

Of course I, unlike you, actually know what I'm talking about. The KKK actually does consist entirely of whites professing Christianity and divine blessing; communism, on the other hand predates "On the Origin of Species" by several years.

Kent Hovind is simply stark, raving mad. If it were only that, I could pity him. But he insists on enjoining others to be as insane as he is. And what's astounding is that there are so many other people who are willing to join him in his madness.
Naturally, he did it because of evolution...

Hovind, you forgot to mention that it was also evolution that killed Bambi's mother.
I thought Lenin had very different problems, like class and social issues, than a mere mundane biological process. Evolution happens, whether Darwin's book exist or not, ya know.
Besides, the title of the "imperial" family of Russia was the Tsar , and Lenin didn't kill them himself. If the Tsar had been more lenient, more cooperative, towards the public, there would also not have been Communism in Soviet.
One could dispute whether there really is Communism in Russia today. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is much more similar to the Tsars, than to the Communist party leaders of old.
He's also ignoring the totalitarian states of kingdoms, the Holy Roman Empire, Dynastys the world over. Communism was tame compaired to many and pretty benevolant compared to the previous rule of the Russian Orthodox church, the last heyday of dark ages theocracy.
