And yet, Canada hasn't had any 9/11-esque attacks. On the other hand, Canada flourishes as a haven of peace & tolerance and a shining example of Liberal values in action. Go figure.

Your country also (via Vancouver) hosted, to quote the IOC's numero uno Jacques Rogge (emphasis added), 'Excellent and very friendly games'. I reckon 'same sex marriage' in Canada was the last thing on the minds of those from Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Pakistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan whilst participating there.
I reckon the only other purely Shia Islamic country Azerbaijan couldn't give a flying fuck for what you, a right-wing Fundamentalist Christian thinks about same-sex marriage. Especially whilst kd lang performed at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics ceremony. PROTIP: Azerbaijan, the only other purely Shia Islamic country in the world, next to Iran, has a thriving Jewish community (protected by a 16th Century edict). They also drink alcohol (they have a saying: 'The Quran forbids us wine - so instead we drink Vodka!'; they do an excellent plum brandy too). You do the maths.
The moral of this story, KateCanada: Don't project your own prejudices, bigotry and hatred on others. It's only you who'll come off the worst (as proved by we on FSTDT calling you out on your fundie bullshit). And you're not representative of the overwhelming majority of Canadians.
Enjoy your minority status, Kate. In perpetuity, if Vancouver 2010 is any benchmark of your country's progress.
